- Whats wrong with my body? (patterns in my eating, breathing, mood, energy, sleeping, weight, menstrual cycle?)?
- Q: EATING:I can't eat very many sugary/greasy foods. Meat bothers me the most; I get sick when I eat it. I sometimes don't feel like eating at all. I never eat breakfast, unless it's on the weekends.BREATHING: Lately, in the past two months, I have been having breathing problems. Usually this is accompanied by feeling nauseous, and having headaches. This usually happens when I wake up. If I take a mid-day nap, I will feel this way, but to an extreme point. I will feel like I can't eat anything, but I feel really dehydrated and thirsty.MOOD:My mood is usually pretty calm. I can't pay attention in class all that well. Sometimes I feel a little depressed, but I'm usually fine. I often feel like I can't handle situations. I often feel I can't think things through all the way.ENERGY: I always feel tired. Sometimes I have bursts of energy but they are usually for short amounts of time. I can't run no more than a half of a lap, or I will pass out. If I run any longer, I feel like I will die. My body doesn't feel tired, but my heart feels so worn out.SLEEPING: I have no problem with waking up in the morning. I don't have trouble getting to sleep, as long as it's after 11:00. For some reason, falling asleep at 10:00 (my bedtime) is extremely hard for me. On weekends, I sleep for 11 hours+. For the past month, I have been feeling sick(as stated above) when I wake up.WEIGHT:I often loose/gain 5-10 pounds a day. I weigh myself everyday. Lately I have been feeling skinnier, but I am still in the normal range of weight I usually am. It's mostly because of becoming an inch taller, I think my skeleton has stretched me out a bit. MENSTRUAL CYCLE:I am 14 years old. Ever since I started my period when I was 11, I have been extremely irregular. When I first started my period, I bled for 3 months straight. I went to a gynecologist and he said to check back in about 3 months. I lost a bit of weight after that, but I didn't have another period after that for a couple of months. Ever since then, I have NEVER been regular. I will miss alot of periods, then it will last no more than a week. I am not sexually active.I do not take any medications or supplements. I do not take vitamins. I would like a TRAINED professional, to please, tell me whats wrong, and if so, give me some ways to help whatever may be wrong with my body? These are all symptoms I find irregular.
- A: everything could be because of irregular periods (HORMONES!) - check below

- Q: ....it's long, but there's some backstory....then my question :) I'm a 27 year old female, a month ago I weighed 244lbs. Today I weighed in at 227lbs. A few years ago a gyno suggested I had PCOS based off of some of the signs I showed (She didn't do an exam at the time) such as excessive facial hair, dark hair on my belly, irregular/missed periods, hair loss...etc. They checked my thyroid, it was okay. I had a period about all summer last summer, it stopped in Nov'ish and I had not had one until the first week in February.......when I changed my diet. On Feb 2, I started the South Beach Diet...I decided to do this due to the readying I'd done on PCOS and its link to insulin resistance. I KNOW I should go to a doctor, lack of insurance for one has been a reason why I haven't.....and I also wanted to see if diet/exercise could help me.On day three of no carb/no sugar of phase 1, I started bleeding. And have not stopped. After the loss of the initial water weight I've lost about 5 more pounds within three weeks. .......I'm just wondering about the link between the weight loss/change in diet and the constant bleeding. Is this on its way to normalizing? Will the continual weight loss eventually lead to a normal cycle and the disappearance of other PCOS symptoms? How much weight will I need to lose? Anyone with a similar situation have any input? The South Beach Diet is close to a diabetes diet.....I eat NO simple carbs, only complex carbs in wheats, fruits, and veggies....high fiber, moderate/high protein,
- A: Hi !Wow, how strange ! My sister went through the same thing ! She is very over weight and had a sever kidney infection, so she had to stay at the hospital. The Drs said it was because she was drinking too much soda, but anyway, she had PCOS and it went away!My sister had a baby and did not have her menstrual cycle for 1 year ! She had the kidney infection way after her delivery and obviously lost weight while in the hospital with her kidney infection. She says she has a normal menstrual cycle now, and she lost 30 pounds.
- Help my sister.....please i need you all?
- Q: Hey all,i am asking this question on behalf of my sister who is younger to me and she is 25 years old and have been married for 11 months....i am asking this question in tears (absolutely i have tears in my eyes)...so please anyone trying to give any stupid comments pls stop reading here...my sister is nearly 90 kgs (198 lbs) and her height is 5 feet and 2 inch...she herself knows that she is weighing too much and her lifestyle has become more sedentary since she manages her business at home in front of the computer...she has to sit in front of the system from 9 am till 9 pm...and sometimes much longer than this as well...her husband works in shifts every fornight...she is not using any kind of contraception but has not conceived since these 11 months...she has started to get pressures from her in-laws (i hope you can understand how a girl feels)...all i am worried is that whether she will be having any problems like poly cystic ovaries because when i just googled for the signs and symptoms of this it said lengthy menstrual periods of 35 days and last two months her periods was delayed and we thought she could be pregnant but last two months it was negative...and another symptom was that acne ..yes she has seen many drs for this and nothing seems to work for her...now i thought of speaking with her regarding this but should i tell her that been obese will affect your chances of getting pregnant and should i inform her about polycystic ovarian syndrome and i dont want to fear her since she is younger than me and i just love her from the very bottom of my heart and to every minute in my life... what and how should i tell my sister about losing weight and polycystic syndrome and getting a baby ? i trust you all as my sisters and pls help me out...i am very careful that i dont want to hurt her ... she cannot bear that...may be your answers could help many sisters so please take time to answer this and i really appreciate very much for concern
- A: It is well known that being overweight or obese does have an effect on your fertility. Maybe you could encourage her to eat more healthily, like a "fertility diet"...lots of fresh fruit and vegetables etc, you get the idea. Although she leads a sedentary lifestyle, could you encourage her perhaps on her days off to accompany you on a nice long walk? Or a window shopping trip? This way she'll be exercising without realising it. As for PCOS, it can only be diagnosed by a doctor. You should encourage her to see someone. Chances are that if she sees a doctor, he will explain healthy eating to her and will test for PCOS. Explain that you are doing it out of concern because you know she will be the best mum in the wold and you can't wait to be an auntie. She'll know you've got her best interests at heart and she's going to need all your support. Good luck!
