What's the difference between the pre-menstrual phase and menstruation?
Q: Im doing some biology and it talks about the menstrual cycle having 4 phases. 1) Menstruation days 1-5 (uterus wall comes away & bleeds)2) Repair phase days 6-16 (new lining is built up- egg is released on day 14)3) Receptive phase days 17-21 (uterus is ready to recive egg)4) Pre-menstrual phase days 22-28 (uterus lining breaks down if egg is unfertilised). So whats the difference between phases 1 & 4?
A: as a woman...I don't care about the phases...all I care about is getting it over with. But since your doing some school work or something I would have to say that the phase 1 is the actual "bleeding" days (b/c a "normal" cycle is every 28 days and you start counting when you start bleeding.) The phase 4 is the PMS (Screech! Screech! Screech!) Days. Beware of the ATTITUDE problem during these days the hormones are really going bonkers and preping the uters to start sheeding the liner of the uterus.
Have any of you tried over-the-counter acne treatments that actually worked?
Q: I had bad acne in high school. I tried everything and it wouldn't go away. In the past year since graduation, my face has been almost totally fine, just having one little blemish at a time, or a little more because of PMS. Right now, I'm just having a really hard time with it. I have about nine or ten bottles of different products that all have guarantees that they'll work, but none of them ever did. It just gets worse and worse, and eventually gets better on its own (eventually). This morning, I got so frustrated that I actually cried (which is weird). I feel like, if I actually redeemed the guarantees on my all my acne treatments that didn't do a thing, I'd have enough money to see a dermatologist, but all the companies have people who make it impossible to get your money back. I've already tried Biore, Neutrogena, Mary Kay, Aloette, Clean & Clear, Acne Free, Oxy, Pond's and Avon. There are a couple more I forgot the names of. My Mom went through a new age phase and her naturopath told her to never use the treatments from the TV because "they damage the spirit", so she freaks out if I even suggest Proactive. All of those treatments either don't work, or they don't work AND they dry out my face so bad that I look like a mummy. It really doesn't look terrible right now, but my face feels like it's bruised all over because of things going on under the skin. It hurts to smile or make any sort of face, so I'm really ready for something that will actually work. Have any of you tried a product or home remedy that worked? Also, just this past month, I started taking Ortho birth control pills. It says it's supposed to reduce the effects of pre-menstrual acne, but what I'm seeing is pre-menstrual acne all month long. Is there any chance the pills are making it worse?
A: My dermatologist told me that the best way to remove blemishes it to shed those melanin pigmentation cells with microdermabrasion. This procedure uses gem strength crystals to abrade top layer of the skin. Treatments are pretty expensive so I looked online and found out that you can do treatments at home if you have those microdermabrasion crystals. I mixed 1 spoon of crystals with 2 spoons of Vitamin C cream. I massaged this paste over my blemishes and I saw improvement first time I used it. 2 weeks later all spots on my nose and cheeks are gone. I have only couple of spots left but they faded significantly. http://www.medicalcrystals.com where I found the best price for crystals and their customer service is great to answer all questions.
Does a woman's intuition really let her know if she is pregnant?
Q: I am not physically trying to conceive, but when it does happen I will embrace the thought and act of being a mother. I had sex on approximately 11/17, 11/21, 11/26, and 11/30. My cycle began on 11/10 of a normal 4-5 day cycle. With my next cycle due approx. 12/09-10. On 11/28 and 11/29 I experienced some light pink spotting with some clear mucus-like substance, assisted with some light cramping, and bloating. Later that day I had minor aches on my right side, which were more annoying instead of painful. On 11/30 I found myself crying over senseless things that normally would not phase me. **Note- I have NEVER cramped or bloated until I was currently on my cycle, and I would consider a week and a half before my next due cycle fairly early for pre-menstrual behavior. I have experienced (excuse the graphic deatails) more discharge that normal.I still have this feeling like AF is sure to show, but I know that this is in fact something that I have never experienced before, and I would consider the fact that I was not necessarily ttc reason enough to believe that I would not just imagine these symptoms. Please help! I am scared as to what this could be. Could it be pregnancy symptoms?I have taken like five HPT. 3 far too early to tell as they were some time last week, and one yest, and one today, and all BFN. I don't know when the best time to test is. I am still waiting (not wanting) for AF to make a move if she is going to do so. Any advice on when testing is best?
A: I knew both times with out testing, and you are probably correct about your intuition...a woman knows her body! It sounds like prego symtoms....when woman ovulate they secrete a discharge, and when you concieve (up to a week after) you can have cramping and spotting......try to relax, and make a dr. appt.
