Stretchy thing in menstrual fluid?
Q: I use an instead cup and I found this stretchy thing in my menstrual fluid. I thought it was a piece of skin or something but I really have no idea what it was. It stretched a bit but broke easy. It was maybe 2 x 3 inches. It was kinda ripped apart already but there were definite flat parts, so I'm not sure if it just wasn't sortof coagulated. Any ideas? Should I be alarmed? This is the first time I have come across anything like it.
A: It's probably endometrial lining from your uterus. It forms over the course of your cycle and then gets shed with the blood during your period.

What could several days of abnormal dark menstrual fluid mean?
Q: I am 30 years old and very familiar with my normal periods and when I have the dark fluid with my period sometimies there is a lot sometimes a little. I just had a stage 2 uterine prolapse. I have ONLY had the dark sometimes nearly black stagnant stuff for seven days now! I have a large ovarian cyst and am under care of gyno that was out of office today when I realized that this has been going on so long. Anyone had this for this long with no fresh menses? What could it be?Thank you and I did forget to mention that it was prior to the prolapse too, I just overlooked it because of cyst and prolapse.
A: the dark blood is an indication of old blood...it could be secondary to the prolapse....don't worry too much but call your doctor in the morning and be reassured.
