There is no way to stop it. If you have been spotting for 3 months and are not on the pill you need to see your doc real soon and get this checked out. Call your doc now since you seem to have some free time and make an appointment to be se...
What are ways to regulate your menstrual cycle?

Contrary to popular belief birth control does NOT regulate your menstrual cycle, the whole way in which it works is to suppress a woman's menstrual cycle - doctors prescribe the pill to 'regulate' women's periods because it's a quick-fix, i...

Is there any way to speed up your menstrual cycle to shorten your period by a few days? I know exercise helps,
Q: but is there any medication or anything else to shorten it?
A: Birth control will sometimes cause your period to lighten and to shorten, (i.e. Ortho-tri-cyclen, Yasmine, etc.). It doesn't work for all women but it does work for some. There are other types of birthcontrol that can keep you from having your period at all (Depo-Provera). Either way, your body has perfect timing for your menstrual cycle, no matter how many days it is or how heavy the flow.
Is there any way to shorten the length of your menstrual cycle?
Q: I am TTC #1 and stopped birth control pills in January. Since then my periods have been so infrequent. They weren't before I went on the pill. I began taking my BBT and know that I am ovulating but on cycle day 23-50 rather than cycle day 14. As a result I have many fewer chances to get pregnant. Is this normal this long after stopping the pill? Is there a way (i.e. diet, excercise, vitamins etc.) to speed up ovulation?
A: It's been about 6 months since you stopped the pill. Most people's bodies are usually getting back on track by this point. Make an appointment with your OB/GYN and tell her of your situation and your concerns. She'll probably tell you to wait it out for a while, but she may consider using some fertility drugs (such as clomid) that allow you to precisely control your cycle length and ovulation date. Most likely, your ob/gyn will suggest you keep trying until January '08. If it hasn't happened by then, they'll take some action in getting you started.
is there a way to discharge menstrual blood faster?
Q: is there a way to shorten your period by discharging menstrual blood faster?? from wat i hear there is a particular amount of menstrual blood, like so many mls meaning that when that particular amount had been flushed your period finishes.i hear that by having sex and getting an orgasm ur ovaries then contract and force more menstrual blood out, therefore shortening your period??this is just a theory...does anyone no if this is plausible??and is there any other way than being sexually active??
A: There's really no way to get it out faster that is healthy. Yeah, sex could cause contractions that increase flow for a few moments, I suppose, but I doubt it would make much difference. Some women developed the technique of "menstrual extraction" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Menstrual_extraction), but it's hard to find someone to perform it, and I'd be leery of causing damage to the uterus. It's not exactly legal, either.
