- A: Brownish blood is, simply put, "old" and is very common/normal. It is not a symptom of Endometriosis per se, and occurs frequently in many women at the beginning or end of their cycle.If accompanied by any other symptoms of Endo, including but not limited to, debilitating cramping and pelvic pain at any point in the cycle, infertility/pregnancy loss, the presence of concomitant allergies and/or autoimmune disorder(s) in the patient, pain associated with urination, defecation and/or sexual activity, significant GI symptoms (may be diagnosed simply as "IBS") and more, this would certainly warrant further investigation and diagnosis.Endometriosis, while incurable, is treatable.
