It's the ONE thing that knocks me down and my body won't allow me to get back up again until they've subsided at LEAST 75%.....I would look for a job where I can work from home but all of those jobs, I'm not qualified for. I wanted my ovaries removed because I NEVER want kids and people STILL tell me (even on here) that I might "someday" want kids. No. Dont tell me what I want. I KNOW what I want. I've had 8 miscarriages because of my ovarian cysts. I don't want to go through that again. But getting my ovaries removed without health insurance is really expensive from what I hear....How do I deal with my cramps like this? If you're vomiting and you can't move and you're in severe pain once a month, how would you handle it? I want to get back onto birth control but I can't afford it. I've tried eating bananas but they don't work. I've tried doing sit-ups but that only makes me vomit even more. I NEED to build up a tolerance to my cramps and I've never been able to do so. - A: Hey liz, it's me again. For my cramps and ovarian cysts, I do a few things:1. For vomiting, I mix 1/2 tsp baking soda with 8-12 oz. water. It tastes like total crap but if you drink it when the cramping/nausea starts, you either won't throw up or the baking soda will neutralize the acid in your stomach so the vomiting isn't as bad.2. For the cramping: PAINKILLERS. Have your GYN prescribe Ibuprofen--but it's a stronger prescription than the normal Ibuprofen...I forgot what it's called, but your GYN should know its name. What I do is take two pills at the starting sign of my cramps and then take one pill every six hours afterwards. For you, I would suggest continuing that until the end of your period. Make sure you take it every six hours on the dot so that your cramps don't get a gain on the medicine.3. Drink tons upon tons of water (not enough to kill you or make you bloated...8-16 oz. an hour should do. Pretty much, drink water like a pregnant woman would. It'll help the fever and your stomach muscles because they get more irritated when they're dried out and when they're already irritated the cysts just put it over the top.As for the chills, well, I don't get sick chills...just fevers, really...And on a side note, coke helps with nausea and vomiting, but only in small amounts, so don't down a whole bottle and expect it to work...And it works best when as fresh as possible. It doesn't help much when it's flat.
