- Q: Birth Pain Compared to Menstrual Cramps?Ok. I know that giving birth is not the most pleasant feeling. I was at the hospital when my friend was giving birth (with epidural) but I was just outside the room and I heard everything but didn't really see much (or else I would probably be traumatized. Now, I am planning on having a baby but am extremely terrified of birth. Please keep in mind that I have excruciatingly painful period cramps to the point where I roll around and feel like I am going to pass out from the pain. So sometimes I ask myself 'How painful can birth be'? That's how painful my cramps are. So anything worse than that (or 10 times worse, as I've heard) feels like something impossible for me to get through. What can I do to get my mind off the pain? How would you compare my very very painful period cramps to giving birth? It's the main reason why I am scared to have a child. Any advise would help.
- A: No they arent like a period pain at all.. I dont know who came up with that one. They feel like you are just about to get diarhea. a very deep gas pain that intensifies. but much worse than just a plain old diarhea gas pain.

- A: I find taking some midol or pamprin really helps. or you can just take a hot bath and relax. also try using some type of thermal pack or a heated up hand towel and put it on your back and just lay down for a while. heat should help ease the pain! i hope this helps!! good luck girl!

- A: It's not normal to suffer so much of pain during periods. There is something wrong which needs to be investigated. By stopping your periods is not going to solve the root of the problem. Change your doctor by all means and get yourself treated. You dont have to suffer like this.
