My menstrual cramps are so painful sometimes that I vomit and am on the verge of fainting. What does that mean
Q: I'm 16, and my menstrual cramps are so bad that I have cramps continously for almost an entire day. I drink water, herbal tea, eat bananas, take tylenol, take hot baths, do yoga, but no matter what I do, the pain won't go away. The pain is also so bad sometimes that I vomit, and have almost fainted. I don't know what to do, I don't know if it's serious or abnormal, and there's nothing I can do about the pain because I've tried everything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
A: Listen, im 14 and im the exact same, it feels terrible but i have fainted and its not good. What I Do Is Take 2 Paracetamol ( Anadin Extra ) And Then Get Something Like A Bag Of Peas Or Something Out Of The Freezer And Lie Down And Sit It On Your Lower Stomach , It Feels Like Its Numbing It And Really Helps , Hope It Helps You :) x
Any tips for getting rid of bad cramps?
Q: Every month when I get my period, I get extremely bad cramps. I usually take a warm bath, but lately that hasn't even really been working. Does anyone know any methods to help with menstrual cramps besides warm baths and hot pads/towels on the stomach?
A: One simple and cheap way to help with cramps (it's also the quickest, and the most convenient and natural) is having an orgasm by masturbating. It doesn't work for *all* women, but it does help many... and for some, it can get rid of cramps entirely for a while.http://www.epigee.org/menstruation/sex.html"... an orgasm can cause your uterus to contract, enabling it to use up excess prostaglandins in the process. Prostagladins are hormones produced by your uterine lining. They help to stimulate contractions that move menstrual blood out of the uterus, and are also responsible for those cramps that occur throughout your period."http://www.kadir-buxton.com/page8.htm"Primary Menstrual Cramps can be a debilitating problem for some 10% of women. Conventional treatment can even be as drastic as exploratory surgery whilst looking for a cure. A less intrusive solution is available. Orgasm from masturbation has been found to relieve the painful symptoms of menstrual cramps. Whilst it is not always convenient to masturbate for the necessary five minutes until the pain subsides, hands free masturbation is still possible. In order to do this one simply has to clench and then relax the vagina repeatedly for five minutes. With this method no one need know of the discomfort being suffered, and the pain soon goes. "http://organizedwisdom.com/Masturbation_and_Menstrual_Cramps"The flexing and contracting of an orgasm basically relieves the cramp. Reduces the intensity of the cramps. Also eases some of the other symptoms of premenstrual syndrome." -
How do you sleep when you're having very intense Menstrual Cramps?
Q: I haven't gotten but about an hour of sleep, because of these cramps. I've taken Midol, I've tried the ThermaCare heating wraps, I've tried laying on my tummy, I've taken a bubble bath to try and relax. Nothing is helping! It's about to drive me insane, and I gotta wake up in another hour for work.
A: Advil! Since I had children my cramps aren't as intense, but, when I was younger, they were so bad I would cry for hours. What I had to do was keep a calender and know a day before I was to start and start taking 2 advil every 4 hours until the second day of my period. Of course, when I was younger, the dangers of ibuprofin(advil) weren't as known. So, just be sure you eat a little something before you take the pills so as to keep your stomach lining in tact. Midol never did anything for me, or anything else for that matter. And if I waited until the cramps started, I would double up on the Ibuprofin... Sometimes eased them, sometimes didn't. Good luck, I know you are in pain.
