They say I have rotator cuff, but why does my neck pop all the time?
Q: Like i have a knot in my shoulder and i went to the dr. He took xrays and nothing was wrong with those, but said i had rotator cuff (like muscle something in there). It is like right next to my spine and neck, but still on my shoulder. I have trouble with my neck popping too though and I told him that. LIke when i wear necklaces, halter tops, or my hair certain ways. I just don't understand why my neck is poppin if its in the rotator cuff.its is deffinetly in my neck b/c it pops on both sides and my shoulder only hurts on the left. i have been tested for scolious (sorry no idea how to speel it the thing where you back sticks out) i don't have it.
A: You are describing the results of unequal muscle tension in the cervical spine.. when you turn your head certain ways, you stretch the shorter muscle and it releases some of the tension applied to the vertebra it attaches to.You need to begin some stretching of those unequal muscles to allow the spine to maintain its normal position.A rotator cuff would restrict itself to the shoulder movement, not the neck.If you would like some specific stretch technics, contact me and will guide you through them.
Why do I get neck pain when I breathe?
Q: When I breathe in and out I get a pain in my neck... feels like a knot or something. I also have headaches quite often... and I'm fatigued quite often. I'm 17, and just got out of school. Could it be from over-masturbating? I can't think of anything else that would cause this. How can that be fixed? What do they have to do?
A: There is NOTHING only a chiropractor can fix!!! Beware of those that use the Dr. to indicate they are a doctor. A lot of people are doctors, but not MD's. Chiropractors and holistic's are a joke to most of the medical community.Go see your MD.
what can i do about my tense neck? any doctors out there?
Q: for about 2.5 years my neck has been extremely tight/tense and i'm 17. i went to a chiropractor for about 3 months a year and a half ago. he worked on relieving the knots in my neck and i was in so much pain every time he did it. he himself didn't know what was causing it, and when he relieved the knots he said that my neck was rock-hard, and it still is. i don't think it's stress related. i've tried heating pads, icing it, taking a bath...doesn't work for long.does anybody have an idea why my neck is so tight and what i can do about it?and also, one of my legs is higher than the other due to bad posture, which i'm working on improving.could that play a role in it and how so?
A: Yes, your one leg being shorter than the other could be a cause for the pain that you are having in your neck (an example only).I would recommend a consultation with a foot specialist called a Podiatrist to have them evaluate the situation further. The reason that I am recommending a Podiatrist is because sometimes problems with the feet can also cause pain and problems in other parts of the body like the back, neck, and even in to the head.Even before doing that though I would recommend letting your mom know about your tense muscles in the neck area each day so that she can help you keep an eye on this. Also, I would recommend checking with your regular doctor as well to see what they say.
