What is the best way to get rid of an ingrown toenail?
Q: It ts EXTREMELY painful, to go to the doctor and have them cut your ingrown toenail. Is there a less painful way to get rid of them?
A: Depending on how bad it is, you could try soaking your feet really well and then try to get it out.
What is the best, non-painful way of getting rid of an ingrown toenail?
Q: I have an ingrown toenail that is soon to be cut/ removed and I heard it can be really painful, especially the part where you have to get needles to freeze/numb the toe. Is there any other non-painful or less painful way to get rid of the ingrown toenail with a similar result as the other procedure? I have type one Diabetes and I know that it might make a difference as to what will be done with the toenail because as a Diabetic, I have to take really good care of my feet. I have already taken medicine for the infection, and I have been soaking my foot in warm water.
A: Its not as painful as you are being told. They numb the toe and then cut a small area then remove the toenail. As a diabetic you can not “wing” this sort of thing when it comes to your feet. Let the doctors do their jobs. I think as far as pain tolerance goes, diabetics are some of the braviest people out there. So be brave as I know you will be.Oh, as far as takeing care of your feet – Smart Wool socks – you will love them. I have been wearing them for two years now and will not wear anything else.
what is the best way to get rid of an infection?
Q: i have an infection in both my big toes, after having the ingrown toenail operation, i have already gone to the doc, she said it was pretty much infected. i am on some antibiotics and painkillers but i was hoping for it to go away quicker, is there any SUCESSFUL ways to help the antibiotics act quicker or help get rid of it?
A: Ensure you keep the skin around your toes clean to avoid bacteria getting into the nails. Don’t wear shoes/trainers that make your feet sweat. Allow your feet to “breathe” in good footwear. Antibiotics kill good bacteria as well as the baddies that cause infection so consider taking a multivitamin whilst your on antibiotics. It’ll take time for them to heal but do go back to your doctor if you don’t start to see improvement after couple days on antibiotics or if they get worse.
