A: 1. No chance.2. It might, depends on your individual mouth.3. It could if you knock it around your mouth too much, that’s why I took mine out.4. I loved it, but i played with it too much and I don’t have dental insurance.5. Probably not.6. It does swell initially in the beginning, but after a few days it’s back to normal.7. You’ll be able to eat just fine, I would never get one if that were the case, I love food too much.8. Yes you can, although stopping for at least a day or two after you get it done will help out with the healing process, which from beginning to end is most of the time no longer then 2 weeks (the tongue heals Very fast), but i’d be a liar if I said I didn’t smoke after I got mine done. I just had to muscle through two days without smoking cigarettes or anything else.Good Luck!
Smoking After Getting A Tongue Piercing… Good Idea Or Bad Idea?
Q: So I am thinking of getting my tounge pierced, for all you who say “get it done professionally” dont worry i am… but that is not my question. My question is, is it a bad idea to smoke after you get your tounge pierced, and dont be coming back saying “dont smoke” yes i know it is bad for me, but i DO smoke. PS if it helps any i smoke D’Jarums, Dreams, Camel #9’s/ and Crushes, Black an Milds and Swisher Cigarillos. Please only answer if you have experience or are an expert on the matter (like if your a piercer)
A: Smoking decreases healing time for wounds so it’s a bad idea if you are getting a piercing in a body area such as your tongue. While it is a great idea to quit while you’re young, this doesn’t seem to be an option for you. I’ll just leave you with this tidbit: less than 5% of people who ever start smoking ever successfully quit. If you decide to stop smoking after your piercing, that might be a good incentive to go ahead and quit for good.
how does it feel when your getting your tongue pierced?
Q: i know it hurts i just want to get an idea of what it feels like… does the needle go through fast? to they use anesthesia do they numb your tongue? from 1-10 how bad is the pain? best answer takes all points. thax!
A: Honestly, the anticipation is worse than the actual process. They don’t use anything to numb your tongue, but the pain of the piercing itself is over quite quickly. I would rate the pain of the actual piercing at about a 7. Take a deep breath, and the process is over by the the time you blow it out. Basically it’s a, “HOT DAMN!! Oh, awesome, we’re done?”The healing is a pain in the butt, do NOT eat any spicy or fairly salty foods! I played that card, and temporary flew through the ceiling. If you’re careful to put food directly on your molars, you should be all set. Drinking iced tea also helps with the swelling and relief of minor discomfort.A quick breakdown of the process: First you pick out your jewelry. Then they mark your tongue (make sure you stick it out all the way for proper placement); apply some clamps to keep it in place (which only pinched a little, not even as bad as biting your tongue, in my opinion); prepare you with some breathing exercises; quickly move the needle through your tongue (in time with your long exhale); slide the jewelry into place. Try to find a parlor that’s a member of the APP, if you can. You can check it out here: http://www.safepiercing.org/piercerLocator.php Good luck! 🙂
