Why do some high end cosmetics cost so much, yet do very little? IS plastic surgery the best way?
Q: Lift Fusion, Prevage, Dr.Brandt, Dr.Perricone, some of these cost about $570 a bottle. That’s insane, and all these cosmetics and makeup promise you so much, yet seem to fall short, or work just as well as anything you can buy in CVS or a much cheaper store. How could these people charge what they do, for products that don’t really deliver?AND, if you really want to look your best, or take years off your face, would a plastic surgeon be the best bet to go?I’m only 26, yet I feel like I’m 40. I get called sir everywhere I go, people generally assume I’m in my 30s, I look older than I am, and I’ve already had a nose job and a chin implant, which I don’t know, didn’t really do all that much. I’ve used so many cosmetics, and it only wastes your money as they really don’t deliver at all, most of them. At least as much as they promise. What plastic surgery procedures at my age, can make me look like a healthy normal 25 year old, and not like I’m 15 years older?I’ve always felt awkward because I looked so much older than I really was, and even at college people were surprised that i was still in college, and surprised that i was “only” in my early 20s.HELP!
A: I could have written that post myself, the only difference is I’m female. But I can relate to everything you say.I’ve also had cosmetic surgery…….laser resurfacing, lower eyelid surgery, fat grafting, fillers to lips and cheeks, chemical peels and I’m still not happy. I should’nt be worrying about this stuff until I’m in my 40’s yet I’m stuck dealing with it in my 20’s.As for products, the best thing would probably be Retin A Cream which you can actually get from the doc. It’s scientifically proven to stimulate collagen and elastin in the skin. Also using an exfoliating product such as lactic acid or glycolic acid works to keep the skin cells renewing. And sunblock is a must to protect your skin from damage. And the message board link below should be really helpful for more advice and information on skincare.Hope this helps : )P.S. Don’t tan or smoke, these cause mega damage to the skin.
TEENS: did i cover this through? what are the disadvantages of becoming a doctor? ( homework assignment)?
Q: First of all the education by itself is very long and time consuming. We are talking about 4 years of college, 4 years of medical school and additionally ,depending on the specialty that a person chooses another 3-7 years of residency. And if a person decided to do a fellowship then we are talking about another 3 years. Plus at this time the salary comes to be less than the minimum wageSecond of all is the pure cost of it. The cost of education is really high ,and it does not matter what school you will attend, well at least thats my own opinion but in addition to whatever college debt is gathered , the average graduate of a medical school if looking at approximately another $ 120.000 of debt , and thats a lot and what if a person decided that being a doc. is not something they wanna do ? That person just wasted a lot of time of their life , not speaking about money i mean thats a huge bill to pay off .Third reason is the lifestyle. It is difficult during medical school and residency. Expect lots of time studying, late nights on call. Some people might even go through a divorce due to the stress that it puts on the marriage. Also residency training is not a ideal time to start a family so often people face the choice of either postponing that and thus being on the older side or trying to start a family in the midst of other huge demands for your time. And speaking of it. Lifestyle will also greatly depend on what kind of medicine you decide to practice, where you decide to practice, and to what kind of clientele will you have . If you decide to be a doctor in an inner-city clinic you may not make very much. If you are a plastic surgeon to the rich and famous in Beverly Hills, you will be a millionaire. Most doctors can expect their home life to be disrupted by work. Again, however, how much will all decide on what type of medicine you practice and where. If you work at a hospital doing emergency surgeries you will have to work many holidays, and you will often get home hours and hours after you are scheduled to get off. If, however you have a private practice, you might have to take some time to see some patients that are in the hospital on the holidays, but it might take 2-3 hours out of your day, at most. No matter what field of medicine you go into, however, you will not see your family much while you go through medical school, and especially while you do your residency. And last but not least the factor of malpractice.Unfortunately, we live in a very litigious society. 2/3 of all doctors will get sued at least once in his/her career. Depending on your specialty, it may even be higher. It’s an unfortunate reality that despite your best efforts, this can still happen to you. Few other professions have such a high risk for liability.the pros are that you get to help people get better and help their families to gain confidence and to still carry hope, or to just make people better, the cons are diagnosing a patient with a disease that slowly destroys their body or that will affect them and their family, for instance, alzheimers disease.those are the 3 paragraphs of my essay this is for homeworksorry its long if you have time and patience to read it thne i appreciate itmy question is did it cover it through ??am i missing something ???there are actually 4 paragraphs 1.cost of education2.time consuming training 3.lifestyle4.malpractice and at the end there is 5th paragraph my general reflection about this occupation and then the conclusion
A: its pretty good better then anything i ever wrote. it looks like you did your research. and your teacher should be pleased with your work if not theres something wrong with the teacher
I am the ugliest person on the planet?
Q: I have taken several photos and posted them up on hotornot.com or on yahoo answers Beauty and Style forum for ratings/opinions. I’ve taken the best I could. My hair the nicest I could get it, my smile the nicest I could smile, the best shirt I could wear. I jog every day to keep in shape and I’m 5’4 and 120 lbs so I dont think I’m fat. maybe a few more lbs to lose. But every one rates me as ugly. Some try to put it nicely but i have received about 50 comments saying how i’m ugly.I know I am ugly too. I just dont know how to fix it. When i can’t change my face.I’m so embarrassed of how I look. Like I said, I jog every day, and I lost weight I used to weigh 130 lbs. So I was really happy when I lost weight and thought this will make me pretty……but it didn’t.what can i do? i hate my image i just hate it.my family says, when i get older i will see that life has to do with personality not appearance. Well no it doesnt, everyone judges based on appearance because it’s what you see. I DONT WANT TO BE SEEN AS UGLY ANYMOREhow much does plastic surgery cost and can they fix your whole facial bone structure?
A: Hi,I don’t know you but I know where you are coming from. I used to hate myself for looking a certain way, too – I was 5 feet 11 inches (still am) and had hooded eyes that look like they glared at anyone I look at (still do) and a long torso with short, fat legs (still do). I’m also adopted so I looked quite different from my caucasian cousins (still do).But you know what?I don’t care.Last summer, my cousin lost both of her legs and part of her scalp because she was in a terrible car accident. They had to be amputated and her scalp’s remains had to be fleshed out and she still has to wear a bandage around her head. Her legs are amputated and she now has prosthetic (fake) legs. People look at her like she’s some kind of freak. Before, she was a beautiful girl with waist length blonde hair and pretty eyes. Friends she had before the accident weren’t hers anymore after. However, my cousin still kept her heart of gold and kindness, and her positive outlook on life. After her accident, and a lot of grief, I decided that looks really, really, don’t matter – it’s your attitude towards life! You say that you don’t want to be seen as ugly anymore? Well, you shouldn’t even tell yourself you are ugly in the first place! Those sites like hotornot.com are just pure BS. And Mmushi M (who is the first person to answer your question, and the person who I gave a big BIG thumbs down to), at that. No offense, but who are those people to tellyou that you’re ugly? You don’t know who they are. And even if you do…why should you care? You are a beautiful individual. YOU are in control of YOUR destiny, and no one else. Don’t listen to anyone else. Love the skin your in, and good things will follow. Love, Demetra [Drew]
