Q: I was taking antibiotics for an abscess in my mouth for about a week and now I’m itching down there. I may have a Yeast Infection, are there any home remedies I can do or take? I don’t have the money for any medication or anything of that sort through a pharmacy, but I can manage something over-the-counter. I’m just itching, there’s no burning when I pee, and there’s no fowl odor.
A: I think it’s thrush. Canesten duo (over the counter pills and cream)
Does this sound like an abscess?
Q: I have a very tender lump down below. It’s a good inch or so above my vagina. Two months ago I had whatever this is and my doctor told me it was simply an infection and gave me medication for it. It went away, but a week or so ago began to come back. It’s now larger than before and more tender. The whole area also itches. Could this be an abscess? If so, what are some things I can do to help it? I know it needs to drain, but is that something I need to go to the doctor to do? Thanks!
A: So can you drain it if so then it is pro ably not an abscess but a cyst they always drain away and hurt like hell but you can get a potato and peel it and get a warm rag and wrap it on the lump and when you do that just keep it there and keep the rag warm and it will eventually drain out, you also have to drain it (push out the puss) if this helps at all……………If it isnt draining but just hurts then it is an abcess and you have to get that Lanced(an incision) that the doctor does you casn go to an primary for this and they just use local anestetics and numb it and then they slice it and let it drain out you wont feel a thing i have done this procedure a couple of times an R.N can do it also so if you know a nurse personally they are trained to do this procedure because it is very common it might be from putting deoderant down there or thigns along that nature
