Why I Love the IPhone: The Ultimate ADD Machine

I love my iPhone 4. There, I said it. For the guy who is still an 8 year-old boy at heart, it is the ultimate device – a tool to keep me stimulated at points where I may otherwise go absolutely insane with boredom.

It’s not that I don’t want to talk to you, it’s just that I think it’s unbelievably cool that I can look at my fantasy football roster instead of listening to why your kid can’t eat peanuts. When my wife is shopping at Crate & Barrel, I can buy a video game on Amazon, and while she’s got us looking at those wonderful picture frames two minutes before kickoff, I can set the game to record so I don’t miss the first quarter. DMV lines? No problem. I have hours upon hours of entertainment in the palm of my hand.

Okay, maybe I’d rather not talk to you. But why would I need to? I have an iPhone.

When I’m on a road trip for business, I can video chat with my wife. When I’m playing a round of golf, I can keep my score and detailed statistics.

If my dog does something hilarious, I can upload it to YouTube on the spot – easily and within seconds.

I can already hear the echoes of the techie geeks telling me that the iPhone is nowhere near the most superior or technologically advanced of the smartphones. Well, guess what? It doesn’t have to be, because I chose it, and it me, and I have found no reason to switch after looking at several other models.

Simply put, the phone works, and I don’t have to mess with any back-of-the-house functions to enhance the way it operates. It’s a simple, effective interface that works just like you think it should. So, if there is a question whether or not the phone can do something, just try it, and you may be surprised at what you come up with.

It helps to have knowledge of some tips and tricks, however, and guess what? There’s an app for it. There is an app for everything you can think of (no other smartphone has a larger library of apps), and best of all, most can be found for free.

Yes, I have drunk the iPhone Kool-Aid, and have enjoyed every sip. There is no need for me to search for a better smartphone at this point. I have all I need. When I am ready to make the switch, I’ll just download an app that helps me create a pros and cons list as to whether or not it would be a wise decision.

After all, iPhone knows best.
