Week 8 – Injury Updates – player injuries and playing status will be updated throughout the week

Week 8 — QB Rankings — RB Rankings — WR Rankings — TE Rankings — D Rankings — Waiver Pickups — Matchup Picks — Player Injury Updates

* Matthew Stafford – Det = @Den —– (ankle/knee) – Stafford was seen walking in boot after the game last week, and if he is forced to miss this weeks game and/or any future weeks, fantasy football teams in need of QB help will definitely want to go pick up Shaun Hill.

* Darren McFadden – Oak = bye —– (foot sprain) – While fantasy football teams missed out big time in week 7 after McFadden went down early in that game, they will luck out in week 8 as McFadden is on a bye week anyway so he should be ready to go when week 9 rolls around.

* Beanie Wells – Ari = @Bal —– (knee sprain) – Beanie re-aggravated his surgically repaired right knee in week 7’s game. It is being called a knee sprain right now, but if Wells is forced to miss week 8’s game, rookie Alphonso Smith will likely see the majority of the touches. Unfortunately a matchup against the Baltimore Ravens defense makes whoever Arizona’s RB is this week a bad play for fantasy football teams.

* Willis McGahee – Den = Det —– (broken hand) – After breaking his hand in last weeks game, McGahee could very easily need surgery, which means he could be out at least a month. Knowshon Moreno lucks out as he should regain the starting RB spot over the next month if McGahee is indeed out.

* Mark Ingram – NO = @StL —– (bruised heel) – With a juicy matchup in store for the Saints offense this week against a terrible Rams run defense, fantasy football teams should monitor Ingram’s status closely this week. Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles will get plenty of touches if Ingram’s injury doesn’t get better quickly….and even at that, why would the Saints want to risk Ingram’s health in this game anyway if the Saints get a huge lead?

* Tim Hightower – Was = @Buf —– (torn ACL?) – The early reports claim that Hightower likely torn his ACL in last weeks game. If this is true and Hightower really has a torn ACL, then Ryan Torain becomes an excellent waiver wire pickup, with Roy Helu likely seeing a good chuck of playing time as well from here on out for the remainder of the season.

* Earnest Graham – TB = bye —– (torn Achilles) – Graham suffered a season-ending torn Achilles in week 7’s game against the Chicago Bears in London. Luckily for the Buccanners, LaGarrette Blount will have an extra week to recover from his knee injury. However if Blount is still not healthy come week 9, then Kregg Lumpkin could be the next starting RB in Tampa Bay.

* Santana Moss – Was = @Buf —– (broken hand) – A fractured left hand will likely sideline moss for a month, maybe only 3 weeks if he is lucky. In the meantime, Anthony Armstrong will likely start at WR2 alongside Jabar Gaffney. For fantasy football purposes, both Gaffney and TE Fred Davis should get a boost in passes their way while Santana Moss is out.

* Hines Ward – Pit = NE —– (ankle sprain) – Ward suffered an ankle sprain in last weeks game. While fantasy football teams likely do not rely much on Hines Ward in weekly lineup anyway, this injury adds extra value to fellow WR Antonio Brown entering week 8.

* Matt Ryan – Atl = bye —– (ankle) – Ryan had his ankle stepped on by a teammate in last week’s game, however with the bye week in store for the Falcons in week 8, fantasy football teams should have nothing to worry about as Ryan should be healthy when week 9 arrives.
