Top 10 Week 2 Fantasy Football Performances

Note: I’m leaving out Tom Brady and Adrian Peterson from the list as those performances are expected on a weekly basis. The players making the list may be available in some leagues or surprises in the early 2011 season.

Miles Austin
Austin had a monster day in week two against the 49ers catching 9 balls for 143 yards and three touchdown catches. Fantasy owners should be aware that Austin may have sustained an injury in the game though.

Vincent Jackson
Vincent Jackson had a huge game against the Patriots defense. Jackson scorched them for 10 catches, 172 yards and two scores.

Jeremy Maclin
Maclin had a big night on Sunday night football catching 13 passes for 171 yards and two touchdowns. Maclin owners should watch the status of Michael Vick carefully as week three approaches.

Cam Newton
Cam Newton followed up a surprise week one performance in his first NFL game with another tremendous performance for the Carolina Panthers. Although the Panthers are 0-2, Newton is putting up amazing fantasy numbers. He threw for 432 yards and one touchdown and also had 53 yards rushing and a rushing touchdown against the Packers.

Fred Jackson
Jackson helped Buffalo rally to beat the Raiders while putting up strong fantasy numbers on the day. He had 15 carries for 117 yards and two touchdowns.

Matthew Stafford
Stafford has the ability to be one of the top fantasy quarterbacks in the NFL if he remains healthy in 2011. He threw for 294 yards and four touchdowns in the Lions week two rout of the Chiefs.

Jahvid Best
Best showed the weapon that he can be in the Detroit offense as long as he and Matthew Stafford remain healthy. Best had 57 yards rushing and a touchdown as well as 6 catches for 66 yards to go with a receiving touchdown. In ppr leagues Best can be a big time fantasy player.

Denarius Moore
Denarius Moore burst out for Oakland catching five balls for 146 yards and a touchdown in their loss to the Buffalo Bills in week two. Moore could be a great target for Jason Campbell going forward.

Eric Decker
Decker filled in well for the injured Brandon Lloyd in week two and caught five balls for 113 yards and two touchdowns. Decker showed big play ability in week one with a punt return touchdown and this week showed his abilities as a receiver. He could be a great fantasy receiving threat for the remainder of the season.

Jason Campbell
Campbell put together a strong fantasy game in his teams loss throwing for 323 yards, two touchdown passes and running for another touchdown.
