Tonight I’ve Got a Hot Date with My Android

Paul McGuire, lead singer and song writer for the pop punk band Karate High School, may have been joking when he wrote a love song to his fictional robot girlfriend, fittingly titled “Fell In Love With A Robot”, but if a robot were created that possessed all the qualities you were looking for in a partner, would you date them?

Imagine all the features you love about your laptop, tablet, or smart phone in a boyfriend or girlfriend. They’d be helpful, obedient, smart, and you could customize them to be whatever you wanted them to be.

Having a robot counterpart would come in handy in any situation. Say you need a toilet fixed or your hair done, your robot partner would always know how to do it and they’d be ready and willing to help.

Arguing would be a thing of the past. There’d be no more standing in line at the theater trying to decide whose turn it is to pick the movie. They’ll never complain; no matter how much you ask of them. Your wish is their command.

Your robot girlfriend or boyfriend would know everything, but they wouldn’t rub it in your face, instead they’d use their wisdom to better your life. Conversation with them would be endless and stimulating.

The best feature of all is they are made for you. If you want them to be funny, kind, short, or tall that’s what they are going to be. You’re perfect soul mate could come from a box.

If the idea of dating a metal machine still doesn’t sound tempting, then just try sizing them up against your last ex and see how they compare. For those who think a robot would make a great date and thinks it sounds too good to be true should be warned that, “Once you go cyborg, you don’t go back.”
