TNA Releases Matt Hardy

Matt Hardy was released from his contract with TNA following an arrest for a DWI (Driving While Intoxicated). Hardy was arrested on August 20 th after crashing his car into a tree.

It seems unfair that Hardy was released from the company considering Kurt Angle was arrested for being drunk in a car back in March. The same can be said for former TNA Wrestler Scott Hall. Hall was arrested for disorderly intoxication and resisting arrest back in May of 2010. In my article “TNA Wrestler Scott Hall Gets Arrested” I criticized TNA for not taking immediate action against Hall. TNA did not take action against Hall until a month later when they released him from his contract.

I think TNA made the right decision by releasing Hardy shortly after the incident but he did seem to get the short end of the stick. Although Hall eventually suffered the same fate as Hardy, Angle still remains with the company. Angle is still with the company because he is one of the top Wrestlers on the roster, to me that seems unfair to Hardy and Hall. TNA needs to punish all of their employees the same. No matter if it’s a referee or one of the top Wrestlers in the company.
