The Outlaw Micheal Tomsik Best Pick for a Cool Night of Karaoke in Jacksonville Florida

My top pick has a history and a ghost so how can you not pick it as the best place to sing your heart out.

The History of Copper Top:

The Copper Top Restaurant (formally known as The Homestead), has been serving guests since the late 1940’s . The new owners have chosen to carry on the original fine tradition of Southern Cuisine as well as Weekly Specials and other good ole’ classic favorites. The Restaurant sits on property that was acquired in a Spanish land grant in the late 1700’s . It has passed through several owners until it was purchased by Mrs. Alpha O. Paynter, one of Jacksonville’s most successful restaurateurs of the times. Originally designed as a private residence in 1934 and was run as a boarding house until 1947 when it was turned into a restaurant. The building is a two story pine log cabin construction that has most of the original interior features such as pine flooring and the massive lime rock chimney which is still in working order. Make yourself comfortable and enjoy the history that lies within the walls.

The GHOST of Copper Top:

The ghost is said to be that of the late Alpha O. Paytner who operated the property as a boarding house before she had a vision of turning it into a restaurant. Previous owners and visitors share various stories of her roaming the old cabin area or standing at the top of the stairs. A very kind spirit, she is said to be simply still trying to look after the place and all its guests.
