Thanksgiving Events in the D.C. Metro Area

Baltimore’s Thanksgiving parade is taking place on November 22 at 11.a.m. The parade will consist of spectacular floats, gigantic balloons, marching bands and an appearance from Santa. The location of the parade is at 100 light streets, Baltimore, Maryland 21202. After the parade, children can come and visit Santa at Santa’s Place and sit on his lap. Also the 2011 Montgomery County Thanksgiving parade is being held November 19, 201l. It will start at 10 a.m. and will proceed down Sligo and Georgia Avenue. In Addition for all you art lovers, in Frederick County November 5, 2011 to November 27, 2011 Civil War Artists Peter Plant, Deborah Lovelace Richardson and Deborah Beadon Carnell will be putting on exhibit their paintings of Civil War battlefields as they would look in the present time. According to http://www.calendar:visionaryland.org. the ;paintings have been created en plein air, fresh air, on location at Antietam, Gettysburg, Monocacy and National Battlefield.
