Summer Dreams

This form is called a rispetto poem.

As summer warms the earth for me
and banishes the rains of spring,
I walk alone beside the sea
beneath salt spray and sea gull’s wing.

A summer’s bliss is rare and brief,
while autumn lurks, a silent thief.
The breeze the sea gull glides upon
will fade like dreams when summer’s gone.
