Stop Demanding Special Circumstances

The land of the free, and perhaps the flexible- Americans have been using the last decade to push the equality stamp on everything known to man. It’s not a bad thing if you are talking freedom of religion, of speech, of gender equality; but seriously people are taking equality too far in their daily lives. Maybe its the ads on TV with a pills for everything making things from shift work a disorder, to something I heard discussed on The Talk about unfair fitting room lighting that every Sam, Joe, and Larry feels that need to be special.

Nothing is more evident that working in a retail for several years where everyone’s little problems should be of our concern. You should hear the complaints. It starts with something as little as the motorized carts which used to be for just elderly persons or those with physical disabilities but noooooo, even though someone walked themselves in the door now the overweight, the pregnant, the teenager with band aid on their knee wants to use them and when the elderly man toting the oxygen tank wants one he has to wait on a bench until the lady that insisted she needed one for her carpal tunnel was done using it. True story. And carpal tunnel is in your wrists, stupid. You don’t see my suing all my editors because I suffer from it. I type just like everyone else, one keystroke at a time.

People want special consideration because they worked all day, apparently employed is now a disorder. Hell, with my four jobs I should be falling apart then. People want things for free because they had to drive to get to the store so apparently mobility is a huge problem in Illinois.

“The tag came off of this so I should get it for whatever price I want.” “I had to stand in a line.” “It should be free because there was something like it at another store and it was cheaper.” “I have no idea what I’m looking for and you can’t read my mind and guess so I should get some sort of credit.”

These are all things we hear all day.

I think the actual disorders are called Stupid. Lazy. Unmotivated. Any of these sound like your customer base?

We are getting too soft. How are future generations going to learn to be set apart from the pack and challenge themselves to have goals if we just keep making everyone equal? Life isn’t fair. Good things come to those that get off their butt and make their own destiny. You can’t have everything just handed to you to keep the score board even and fair because that isn’t reality.

In the meantime we keep making up downfalls to keep every fish in the tank the same so no one evolves enough to grow legs and move on the something else. These so called disorders are ridiculous and expecting someone has to give you special terms over another person is insanity.
