These past two years I have experienced more tragedy and misfortunes than I have ever faced in my entire life. I know that God has a plan and is charge but that does not make bearing these burdens any easier. I could not have made it this far without constantly encouraging myself in the Lord; sometimes those closest to you are facing their own battles and can’t help you face yours so it is highly important to know the Word for yourself. At times, these verses are what I pray; I personalize each verse and pray them in the context of what I am going through. I don’t believe that these should be recited as though we are casting a spell or they are some sort of magic potion but I do believe that God has given us his word for our edification. The Word clearly states that “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17). I believe that by repeating these verses, we are hearing what God has told us and it builds our spirit and faith. Here are some of the verses I pray and remind myself of throughout the day.
Genesis 50:19-20-And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive.
Philippians 4:19-But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Matthew 6:32-34- (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
1 Chronicles 4:10- And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.
