Staind Self Titled Album – Best of 2011!!

There have been many albums released in the past year including many different genres of music. My personal favorite genre of music is rock and there are many albums that are my favorites. I would have to say that the new self titled album by Staind is my favorite album of 2011.

Staind has been around for many years and have produced songs from heavy metal to soft rock. Their audience is so huge that anyone can relate to their songs. The words that Aaron Lewis conveys in his songs are spectacular and can bring a tear to anyone’s eyes. Songs such as So Far Away, It’s Been Awhile, Outside, Epiphany, Fade, Believe, and Everything changes are among my favorites.

The new self titled album is my all time favorite record released by this group because of the diversity of the songs. The songs range from heavy to soft and anywhere in between! Something To Remind You is my favorite song on the album because of its meaning. Aaron Lewis, lead vocalist of Staind, sings about leaving something behind to remind everyone of him. The words that he chose to include in the vocals are great and are very emotional.

Aaron Lewis recently released a country solo album titled “Town Line” earlier in 2011 which included the lead single “Country Boy”. The song went mainstream and there are only a few other songs on the album. In my opinion, the entire album can be played without skipping one single song! Country Boy talks about how he grew up and how it made him turn into a country boy. The song “Massachusetts” talks about his hometown of Worthington, Massachusetts and about his family. There is another song on that album titled “Vicious Circles” and Aaron sings about his love life and how he always seems to be running in circles around his wife to please her. The words have great meaning and the melody is amazing. The acoustic guitar makes it all and sets the mood for the entire record. The other instrument that is used the most is the steel guitar. Every song on the album includes these two instruments!

Aaron Lewis proved that he can branch off from writing heavy rock music and concentrate on creating a solo country album to please the diverse music industry. Not everyone likes a certain type of music but he showed that he really cares about the interests of his fans and that he is never going to give up. So, in conclusion, the self titled album by Staind is by far my favorite album of 2011.
