Selena Gomez to Host Pre-Show for MTV’s 2011 Video Music Awards

MTV has announced that Selena Gomez will be the celebrity host of the pre-show for this year’s 2011 Video Music Awards that will feature Lady Gaga opening the show with one of her wild and fantastic performances.

Gomez, who is only 19 years old, is both a talented singer and an Emmy award-winning actress. Her enthusiasm, and bright smile are delightful and I’m sure Selena Gomez will make a great hostess for the pre-show festivities.

Gomez will serve as the anchor for the pre-show, bringing breaking news to the public, interviewing peers, and of course meeting and greeting stars as they arrive at the MTV Video Awards, which will be held on Sunday, August 28, 1011.

This year’s VMA’s will feature a host of talented artists performing live on stage in between the announcements of the VMA winners. Bruno Mars, Lil Wayne and Adele, Chris Brown and Young the Giant are all slated to perform during the awards show. Other artists will be added and announced at a later date according to MTV.com.

But before all the big excitement begins at the awards show, Selena Gomez will be greeting starts and performers as they arrive at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA to make their way down the black carpet to attend the2011 MVA’s. Gomez will be joined by MTV news correspondents, Sway Calloway, Jim Cantiello and James Montgomery, who will also be interviewing celebrities as they stroll down the black carpet.

The pre-show for MTV’s VMA’s will feature a live performance by Cobra Starship featuring Sabi, performing “You Make Me Feel.” Cast members from Jersey Shore will pop in to predict the winners of MVA’s after a new episode of the show airs prior to MTV’s Pre-Show. The new video from Nicki Minaj, “Fly,” featuring Rihanna will also air on the pre-show.

The MTV Video Music Awards will air on MTV on Sunday, August, 28, 2011 at 8:00 Central Standard Time live from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, CA. Tune in at 7:00 pm to catch Selena Gomez hosting the VMA pre-show.
