On our way to this restaurant, one of those pedi-cabs begged to take us and we agreed. “Oh, this will be part of the charm we can remember from our visit!” we thought to ourselves. He demanded $35 for a three minute ride. Yes, I would say skip the pedi-cab and take a real cab, if you’re out of the way, or just walk like we were going to in the first place if you’re close enough.
First impression – Cram-Packed full of people, beautiful decor, quiet mood lighting, not-so-quiet atmosphere and a lot of waiters/waitresses busying about. This place is expensive and apparently is the place to, ‘see’ and ‘be seen,’ if you’re into that kind of thing. We didn’t see anyone famous while dining here, but that doesn’t mean there weren’t famous or VIP people around. We were just into having too much fun and didn’t look around much. Make sure to dress up a little bit. I wouldn’t say that this place is ‘touristy’ enough for shorts and a T-shirt. Seems more like a “locals” place, which I tend to enjoy more on a vacation, anyway.
Placing our orders – I got the vegetarian ravioli, another in our party didn’t know what looked or sounded good. “He likes Chicken Parmesan… What do you have that’s closest to that?” we asked our waiter. He waved his hand and said, “No worries. Our chef will make that for you!” It wasn’t even on the menu! “He knows how to make that,” he winked. What service. The food was spectacular and we ate nearly everything that was on our plates. We didn’t have dessert, but they give you a little cookie tray after your meal. And, since it was a Birthday we were celebrating, the waiters surprised us with a Birthday platter dessert, enough for the whole table and sang to us, drawing the attention of the whole place to our table. It was great! Little extra touches go a long way in this place and if you choose to eat here, you won’t be disappointed!
