Proud Of The Parents And Their Children:

I’m feeling proud to live in the County that is known as one of the nation’s top 100 Best Communities for Young People by America’s Promise Alliance and ING for the second year in a row. This is a great achievement for our county.

It was released in a news from Prince William County Schools, Marquerite W. Kondracke, America’s Promise Alliance president and CEO who commented, “Prince William County is especially deserving of this recognition due to their efforts to ensure that their young people graduate high school and go on to lead healthy, productive lives.

People in Prince William County refuses to let challenges they face to determine the future for their young people. Instead, they’re helping their youth prosper and become contributing members of society.

America’s Promise Alliance stated, Prince William County has an 88 percent graduation rate, which is well above the national margin. The Alliance also recognizes other programs in the county for their efforts in the community including: Beat the Odds, Northern Virginia Healthy Kids Coalition, GEAR UP, Parent as Educational Partners, Learn and Serve, Prince William Volunteer Action Center, and the Gang Response and Intervention Team.
