Poetry Time – Winter Comes Creeping In

Here is a poem in traditional AB,AB, CD, CD, EF EF form to celebrate the coming of Winter.

For those of you who have asked; Yes, even in the South of France, we still have four seasons!

******* Winter Comes Creeping In *******

With Winter only days away,

The morning air provides a reason,

For windows closed throughout the day,

A preview of the coming season.
. . .

The mid-day sun is bright and warm,

But never seems to be,

Too much to bear, for heat has charm,

On fleeting days we see.
. . .

The hearth stands ready for nights by the fire,

Hot cocoa seems less of a sin,

It’s time for big sweaters and the Yuletide choir,

When Winter comes creeping in.
