Please Don’t Love Me

He said he loved her,
He said it a lot.
Only when he hurt her,
More often than not.

He said he loved her,
He said it one day.
Another broken bone,
Truth in the x-ray.

He said he loved me,
I promised not to cry.
Not enough make-up,
Could cover my eye.

He said he loved me,
Lashing with his belt.
Does love always hurt,
Is this how it felt?

He said he loved her,
One cold, rainy day.
As he beat her to her death,
Her body gave way.

If this is love,
I don’t want it at all.
He loved her and then,
Her head hit the wall.

Please, don’t love me,
I don’t want to cry.
Happiness is being alone,
To be loved means to die.
