Pappy’s Smokehouse: Best BBQ in St. Louis, Missouri

When many people think about the best bbq in the country, they will list either Kansas City or Memphis. While those areas may be best known for their bbq, a small restaurant in St. Louis is producing better bbq than you will find anywhere else in the Midwest. Pappy’s Smokehouse is a small restaurant that is located just outside of downtown St. Louis and is quickly becoming the hottest restaurant in town. Pappy’s has already been featured on the Travel Channel and the Food Network because of their great food.

Every time you come to Pappy’s there is a line out the door and wrapped around the building. They are so busy that do not have closing hours. They close when they run out of food, which can be as early as 5 or 6 p.m. on a busy weekend. If you do not feel like waiting in the line, you can call ahead and place an order to pickup.

Pappy’s menu features baby back ribs, pulled pork, chicken, turkey and brisket. All of which are some of the best that you will find in the country. All of their meats come without any bbq sauce, but there are three different homemade sauces available to add on your own. Pappy’s doesn’t put any sauce on their meat because they believe that the meat is good enough that they do not have to hide it in sauce, which is entirly true. There are far too many bbq restaurants that cover their meat in sauce to hide the flavor of the meat. If you properly cook your meat, then only a little sauce is need to add to the flavor.

Pappy’s Smokehouse is rapidly becoming a destination for foodies, and they have won multiple awards in their short existence. Pappy’s has been voted the best restaurant in St. Louis every year since they have been open. If you want great bbq, then come to St. Louis and experience the great food that made Adam Richman from Man vs. Food and Michael Simon of Food Network come and eat for themselves.
