America’s Got Talent’s Murray Sawchuck returned to Las Vegas for a limited four night engagement as guest star, for the opening of the Vegas Magic Theater, at the Gold Coast Hotel. I have been watching Murray ever since he was a contestant on America’s Got Talent (AGT).
Murray has a very different style of performing magic and Mega-illusions with many surprises in his act. I interviewed Murray at the party after the show. Murray discussed his image, “I still have the same hair-style and as long as I have my hair I’m good. I can’t rob a bank looking like this because it would be too easy to find me. They say you gotta’ brand yourself. I figured with my hair and glasses no one would miss me whether they love or hate me you won’t miss me.”
Many people remember the train Murray used during the “AGT” contest. Whenever he travels to foreign countries to perform his illusions, it depends upon the type of show each country wants to see. If England wanted to see the train illusion he ships it over there. He joked, “The train wouldn’t fit through the Gold Coast’s front door so I left it in the parking lot.” Murray also uses tigers, a Ferrari, and many more props customized to the venue!
Even with all of his traveling, Murray is still the Magic Consultant for the History Channel’s Pawn Stars Show during their live events across the United States, he flies in and returns back to his show’s schedule.
I am a travel writer but Murray does more traveling than me. Following his appearance in the Vegas Magic Theater, Murray is scheduled to appear in Cartagena, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas then returns home for 18 hours to do his laundry and repack before flying to Germany.
