Local Author Connie Wilson Has Had a Prolific Year

Frank Sinatra once sang New York was the city that doesn’t sleep.

If he was singing about local author Connie Wilson, he’d say the same.

Wilson recently released her fifth book of 2012 – “The Christmas Cats In Silly Hats,” a children’s tome that tells the tale of two squabbling kittens and ends with a heartwarming and positive message for the holidays. The kids’ book joins two other Wilson paperback titles released this year, “Laughing Through Life,” a compendium of humor columns, and “It Came From The ’70s,” a look at the movies of the disco decade, as well as two eBooks, “Ghostly Tales of Route 66″ and “The Bureau.”

“I enjoy keeping busy and I love to write,” Wilson said. “I often find myself with more ideas than I have time to execute, but I enjoy bringing them to life. Writing is a always a rewarding process.”

In addition to marking Wilson’s inaugural as an author of children’s books, “Christmas Cats” also sees the debut publication of artist Emily Marquez’s work. The Venezuelan illustrator was called on to add her talents to the book in collaboration with original artist Andy Weinert.

“It’s been an honor to work with each of them, they’re both terrific artists and they’ve certainly helped bring the book to life with their beautiful illustrations,” Wilson said. “I think both parents and children will enjoy the beautiful artwork, and, the story, of course.”

Wilson, who has won countless awards including recognition from Associated Content, Iowa Press Women and the Stoker Awards, is embarking on a book signing tour to accompany the release of “Christmas Cats,” which is available at bookstores worldwide and online in print and eBook format.
