How to Print Out Google Calendar Better Than Ever

The new-look version of Google Calendar is great, except for the printing function, which has not been resolved despite many complaints. The main complaint is that the calendar no longer prints out the seven-day version on one page as it used to. My biggest complaint is that the Google Calendar new-look version prints out a lot lighter (almost illegible) compared to the old version I’ve used for years.

But I’ve figured out another way of printing the Google Calendar using the Firefox add-on called Screengrab–an application that enables you to take a snapshot of a whole webpage or any part of it and save it to your desktop as a file. You can then print out the file as you would any other file.

Steps to print out your Google Calendar:

1. Make sure you have Screengrab as an add-on to your browser. To find out,
go to any webpage and right-click on your mouse. If you have Screengrab, it will be one of the options.

2. If you don’t have Screengrab, go to the following website and download
it: http://www.screengrab.org/

3. Or add it on to your browser. To add it on to Firefox, go the following website:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/screengrab-fix-version/?src=search

4. Practice a couple of times with any website to get the hang of
it. Google Calendar is a webpage, so you can practice with that.

5. Get the view of Google Calendar the you want–the month,
week or day. Most Google Calendar users like to print out the week’s
schedule. I print anywhere from two to five days.

6. Right-click on the calendar and select the Screengrab option. Then
select which view you want. The best for printing out the Google Calendar is “the whole page” option. Screengrab will snap it and then save it to your desktop if you ask it to save it there. (You may want to rename the file to “Google Calendar snapshot” so that you can find more easily.)

7. Go to your desktop, find and open the file.

8. If you have a Mac, it will open in a preview form. Take a look at
it and see if the file looks the way you want it to. Then select print and it should come
out very much to what you see in the preview.

This is as easy as printing out the Google Calendar the old way and
it comes out much better. Now that I’ve come up with a better way to print out the calendar, I don’t have to wait for Google Calendar to come up with a solution.
