How to Make a Sage and Rosemary Hair Rinse

Sage and rosemary are not only aromatic cooking spices, but they are two of the best herbs for your hair. They are excellent for promoting thicker, stronger, shinier hair and also preventing hair loss, naturally. Sage is specifically useful for shine and encouraging new growth. It is a stimulating herb with anti-microbial and astringent properties. Rosemary stimulates circulation to the scalp, which encourages more nutrition to hair follicles and hair growth. As an astringent, rosemary reduces dandruff and helps to prevent clogged hair follicles, which inhibit new growth.

Try using a sage and rosemary hair rinse to improve the quality of your hair. Especially for dry, thinning and dull hair, an herbal rinse can help to revitalize your locks. Use every day for one week and then once or twice a week to maintain shine and thickness.

Homemade Herbal Hair Rinse with Dried Herbs

Making a rosemary and sage hair rinse at home is very easy. You can make enough to use for two or three days, storing the leftover in a sealed glass container in the refrigerator. Steep one tablespoon each of dried sage leaves and dried rosemary in two cups of boiling water. Let the herbs infuse for ten minutes, covered. Add one tablespoon of white vinegar for extra shine. Use one cup of the infusion for each hair rinse treatment.

After shampooing hair, pour the sage and rosemary rinse over wet hair. Leave on for about five minutes. Gently rinse hair with cool water.

Green Tea Hair Rinse with Rosemary and Sage Essential Oils

Another way to make an herbal rinse for growth and shine is to use rosemary and sage essential oils instead of the dried herbs. The potency of essential oils quickly degrades once the oils leave their original container. For a more effective treatment for your hair make each rinse before use instead of storing overnight.

Brew one cup of green tea, which is a great source of antioxidants for the hair. Green tea is also naturally anti-bacterial. Add three drops each of rosemary and sage essential oil. Once the infusion is at room temperature, rinse wet hair with the green tea and herbal combination.

Both of these herbal hair rinse recipes are excellent for enhancing the shine of your hair and also stimulating new hair growth. Use rosemary and sage regularly for your locks and you will notice a remarkable improvement. They are a great nourishing experience for hair and scalp.
