Give the Game Ball to the Other Team’s Player

The shocking news to give you would be; Tony Romo woofed another. Not shocking, I know.

They tell me this kid got style, charisma, charm. But does he have the disregard and pride to forget about the career he once had? What a guy, but does he know he plays for Americas Team. The team that honored the strut and egos of Aikman and Staubach, who use to trot through the tunnel of the old Texas Stadium. They even built a new Texas Stadium, all for Romo to take his team under the High Def lights and scoreboard, and make it his team and his era. Only do immigrants (legal or illegal) move to this beautiful free place to watch Gods team and wear Emmitt’s throw back during their weeks as casual clothing.

Take the following five years of chapters pasted the shelves in Romo’s library, get a match and light that sucker up. Pack the ruble and ship it east for a high school quarterback can read the right things to do if you want to fail your team. The best way of starting over is to start new. New coach, new stadium, new Defense and a young improving O-line. The year ahead is going to have rebuilding, and mistakes. The mistakes of the rookies, the second year players who need a leader and someone to show them how to win in crunch. Not the mistakes of the veteran quarterback.

After watching the first game of the current season, I noticed one thing. This is not the same Cowboys, things have changed. This is a more serious, playing to win team who’s spirits seem to be very high. With Rob Ryan, as the hard-ace defensive coordinator, a head coach, that shows some emotion getting on his players when needed. This Cowboys team is going to win big and win big soon. Yes, they have changed but one thing (one player) still unchanged. That is Tony Romo who needs to take his team far this year. Don’t worry about stats. Get the job done and stop making the mistakes that spell your name worse than it already is.

Over in the other professional sport of basketball, in the same state, the biggest former underdog and choker in NBA history finally got his. Unexpectedly, Dirt Nowitzki took the challenge and finally got the ring he needed to leave the choking to the hecklers. No one new or predicted the Mavericks to win except Kobe. I’m sure every Dallas fan mailed a letter to Dirk in hoping he could have a sit down with Romo on how to win a crucial game. I’m not saying week 1 had to be won. But it would have been nice to see Romo drive his team into field goal territory for a win. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen such a thing. It would have been nice and comforting…
