Visualize the end result

No matter what your goals are, you need to keep your eyes on the prize. If you are trying to lose weight, focus on the feeling of getting on the scale only to discover that you have achieved your goal. If you are trying to reach a certain size, imagine how well you will look and how good you will feel wearing one of the outfits you are trying to get back into. If you are after muscle gain, imagine what you will look like with a muscular chest or chiseled abs. See yourself as you will be once you have accomplished what you have set out to achieve.

Focus on the positive

Always remain positive. Positive thinking and a positive mindset are amazing tools to utilize when undertaking a challenging task. Positive thinking and a positive mindset can actually help push you beyond plateaus and work harder than what you thought was possible. When was the last time you had a great workout when the first thought you had entering the gym was negative?

When you have a setback, use that as motivation to work harder. When you are sore after and find it difficult to continue to workout, know that the exercise regimen must be working. Instead of longing for desert or an extra portion at meals, concentrate on the positive effects on your overall quality of life that eating properly will have.

Track your progress

What better way to stay motivated than to track exactly how well you are doing? Keep a record of your progress by writing everything down and taking pictures.

If you are trying to lose weight or inches, record your food intake and your workouts. Be sure to include how mush you eat, what you eat, and when you eat. Keep up with your workouts also. If you are lifting weights, track your progress by keeping up with how much weight you are able to lift and how many repetitions you are able to complete.

Make sure to take before and after pictures also. This is the easiest way to see just how well you have done. After all, pictures speak a thousand words, right?

Surround yourself with motivated people

Another key to success is to keep company with other motivated people. It is a lot more difficult to lose focus of your goals when the people around you are still working hard to accomplish theirs. This acts almost like a friendly competition. After all, no one wants to be the first to give in.

Follow these four steps and you will have a much higher chance of achieving your fitness goals. Visualize, stay focused, track your progress, surround yourself with motivated people and dominate your goals!
