Empire Rising: My “What to Buy and What Not” Guide

Power and security are the most important factors in building an empire. In order to achieve these, one must have the resources and the ability to manage it. Aside from that, military power is also needed not only for defense but also for conquest. Similar to history, these play major roles in Empire Rising; conquer or be conquered. But in order to attain the achievement of being the most powerful empire, players need boost ups to save time. It may require patience for the upgrading part; however it can be worth the wait.

Gems are most needed in buying in-game items. Though gold is much easier to acquire than gems, getting these are essential in the empire’s growth. The purposes of these items varies but mostly are used for boosting up resource production and lessening time consumption but not all items in the shop are not that important. It depends on the players’ needs and preferences. So…

What to Buy?

I followed the Shop category from the game itself so that it would be easier for me to discuss everything. I mainly focus on economic growth; military growth is secondary since I only use them for defense and NPC raid and invasion. I do not really have any hierarchy in buying these items. I just buy and reserve them.

Production

I mentioned before that the main priorities in empire building are resources and work force; upgrades and military growth will follow afterwards. Every time the buildings’ level gradually increases, it consumes more time and resources. Even researches sometimes take time, depending on the technologies that they wish to upgrade. If players are in a hurry, Accelerated Construction should be used to save time and to give way for other building upgrades. As for the Accelerated Research, I rarely use this one since I find it least needed.

Resource Allocation is also helpful when players wish to distribute everything equally. I find it easier to budget and plan everything whenever I use this. In order to get building constructions and upgrades done quickly, Craftsman Covenant would be suited for this. With this, players are allowed to build and upgrade up to five buildings simultaneously which saves a lot of time. Also, players are free to choose the duration ranging from one day until one month. I also mentioned boost ups for production a while ago. Inspired Workers is really helpful in terms of contributing in the economy’s rapid growth. Insufficiencies are immediately filled up, which makes it easier to allocate and utilize all resources, lessening the hassle of waiting too long.

Military

In case of incoming attacks from enemies and the troops are away, it would be advisable to use Enhanced Movement and Teleport Scroll. That way, troops can arrive earlier and defend the town from enemies. I only use Accelerated Recruitment whenever I am in a hurry to build troops in case I get paranoid over enemy threats. I often use Military Expansion in recruiting in order to lessen the waiting time for the next recruitment. Use only Inspired Warriors unless I attack other players. If players wish to buy time in preparing troops and gathering resources, use the Truce Scroll, though NPCs can attack them.

In case of moving expansions near the main town, use Migration Scroll. This one is somewhat helpful because it lessens the travel time of resources and troops to the expansions, though it depends solely on the players’ luck.

General

I rarely use items to boost up my generals. I usually buy Healing potions for fast recovery and to lessen the wait on regenerating. The three tomes are definitely needed since it is essential in making skill books, though I am not very familiar with it. I also prioritize the experience gained by my generals in order to get better loots and increase the chances of winning so I often purchase Refinement Stone.

What Not to Buy?

I consider some items least needed since the system can adjust easily with the needs and wants of the players.

In the Production category, I never use Mill Manager since I find it quite easy to acquire food. Also, I just do not like to see my hard-earned gold slowly decreasing automatically. As for the Farming Sickle, Logging Saw, Quarrying Pick and Mining Tramcar; I find these a little costly since there is the Inspired Workers, unless players want only a specific or prioritize resource to be boosted. Same goes for the Bag of Gold; I find it expensive for a hundred gems since I find gold is easier to acquire. It should be a little cheaper but I hope they could adjust the price for it.

Similar to the separate resource boosters, Battle Horn and Enhance Defense are not that useful since Inspired Warriors already provided all of these with the troop mobility increase.

As for the General category, the Accelerated Revival is somewhat useless since there is an Instant Revival. Why spend fifty gems for this if the general could be immediately revived for a hundred gems? I find most items for the generals least needed for me.

The Exchange and Gold categories seems to be unimportant for me. I would rather gather and reserve Mysterious Medals and diamonds for the six-star general recruitment card only.

I am not quite a shopper in games like this in empire rising but I hope this will be helpful.
