Easy Wine Cork Wreath Instructions

Collect and save the corks from your favorite wine bottles to make a homemade, one-of-a-kind wine cork wreath. This easy to make project adds a unique touch to an inside or outside wall. The corks add texture to any area.

The base of the wine cork wreath is a straw or foam wreath. Open weave wreaths made from vines work but there may be gaps between the corks because of the openings in the wreath.

Things You’ll Need:

Wreath
Wine corks
Hot glue gun
Hot glue sticks

Process:

Step 1 – Place the wreath on a flat work surface.

Step 2 – Determine the positioning of the corks. Cork positions include side-by-side, overlapped at an angle, haphazard or on end. I personally like the overlapped corks so they add color and dimension. With the overlapped look, the labels on the corks are visible.

Step 3 – Hot glue the corks to the wreath. Start the gluing process along one edge of the wreath. Cover all gaps. For example, place the first cork against the flat work surface on the right side of the wreath. Continue the gluing process from there. It is very important to bring the corks to the flat work surface. This provides a solid coverage and no gaps when hanging the wine cork wreath in the desired location.

Step 4 – Add a ribbon, bow or other adornments if desired.

A small 12-inch wine cork wreath will take approximately 200 corks. You may need to ask friends to collect their wine corks also to make sure you have enough to complete your wreath.
