Content Curation Becoming Vital for Success

Content curation is becoming a hot new topic as the internet is ever evolving and changing with such a rapid rise. Content curation is growing because of the fact that we are now living in an information age being surrounded by digital information everywhere.

The rise and rise of digital devices has only accelerated the amount of data which is now passing through the various channels and because of this the internet has become a hub for people to distribute all types of information.

This has led to a lot of noise and a lot of people are now looking at ways to stream line the way they are presented with information.

With all the bloggers about a lot of people have become accustomed to writing their own blogs and their own adventures which has led to an overload of content.

Now this is where content curation comes into the frame, it is somewhere other peoples work is highlighted alongside an authors, be it on a website or a service like Scoop It.

Curation is becoming so popular that I would say that even prolific creators are going to end up mixing their own original content with that of their others – people who they may be feel align closely with their niche or someone who offers something a bit different but what their readers may enjoy or accept as useful information.

The main reason for this is that creators, distributors and curators are all dependent on each other now and all are part of the same ecostructure which is mainly to do with the distribution of their content. People want ways to expose their content and be seend, this can be done via curation, and easily may I add.

Tools to use for Content Curation

I have been experimenting with a number of tools but the best I have had joy with are the free online services including Storify, Bundlr and Scoop.it.

From personal experience:

You will not become a great content curator overnight as with everything it is something you will have to mature into. But having said that you will need to start somewhere. To get you started though here are some easy tips to get going.

1 – Set-up Google Alerts on certain keywords (pick a niche).

2 – Set up a Google RSS Reader & start monitoring relevant blogs & news sites of interest

3 – Start updating your social pages status with links to top notch content.

4 – when people you know query about a certain topic respond with an authoritative and timely message

Final step:

My advice would be to pick a niche and remember to stick to a niche and stay true to your word. You can earn extra money only if you deliver what you promise. You have to remember to always keep an eye out for any content which may have not been there yesterday as this will be able to give your readers something unique and not only that but something thats is current.
