Cabinet Door Transformation: Three Great Ways to Repurpose a Cabinet Door

One of the latest trends in decorating is to redo items to give them a new purpose. One of the most versatile items that can easily be repurposed is a cabinet door. There are several great tutorials that can be found online for repurposing cabinet doors. Here are three of my favorite tutorials for repurposing a cabinet door.

The Creative Crate: Cupboard Door Picture Hangers

Stacie at The Creative Crate shares a tutorial for turning cabinet doors into a creative, and elegant way to display your pictures. This project is extremely easy to make, as the hardest part of the project is sanding and painting your doors. I also love the fact that because the pictures are not permanently attached to the cabinet doors they can easily be changed out. If you are looking for a cabinet door repurposing project that is quick and easy to but also doesn’t require the use of power tools than this one is for you.

Ucreate: Cupboard Door-Gone-Art Desk

Autie, who is the author of the blog iCandy handmade, shares a tutorial for turning a cupboard door into an art desk for kids on the Ucreate website.

The second I saw this art desk made from an old cabinet door, I began searching furiously for cabinet doors to make art desks for my kids. This is a genius project, and is very easy to do. While it isn’t hard to make, it does take a little bit of time between steps to allow the paint and modge podge time to dry. Autie’s tutorial does a great job of walking you through each step, and makes the construction process a cinch.

Better Homes and Garden: Message Board

The Better Homes and Garden Magazine website offers instructions on turning a vintage cabinet door into a Message Board. The message board is not just your average message board, and has a great rustic farmhouse look to it. The instructions on the website are not incredibly detailed, and there are no pictures of the construction process, only a picture of the completed project, but if you are somewhat crafty it would be easy for you to make your own message board using their instructions.
