Big Show Will Not Win the World Championship Against Mark Henry at Vengeance

Last night on Smackdown, (Oct 8, 2011) Big Show made his return to WWE. Big Show was successful in exacting some revenge on Mark Henry after he fractured his fibula 4 months ago. It was also revealed that Big Show will receive a title shot against Henry at Vengeance. Big Show seems to have a lot of momentum after making his return and decimating Mark Henry. Despite all of this, my gut tells me that Big Show will not win the World Title at Vengeance.

Mark Henry is having a successful run as the World Champion. As we all know, it took 15 years for Henry to become a major champion, and it would be stupid to take the title off Henry. Despite the rumors, there has been plenty of chatter that Henry could hold the belt until WrestleMania 28. The rumor is unverified, but Mark Henry’s title reign will be longer than what many people expected.

Mark Henry has defeated Randy Orton, the top face on Smackdown fair and square. Not only did Henry defeat Orton, he imposed his will on the “Apex Predator.” Randy Orton has had similar success in winning matches like John Cena, but Henry is the first guy in a long time to legitimately defeat Randy Orton. Mark Henry has defeated Randy Orton on two separate occasions and finished strong in both matches. What makes you think Big Show can defeat Mark Henry for the World Title at Vengeance?

The most of Big Show’s major title reigns occurred in his WCW and during the Attitude Era in WWF/WWE. Sadly, none of Big Show’s title reigns were lengthy. He would only hold onto a title for a short time and drop the title to another superstar. His last singles title reign was as the ECW Champion 2006. The last time Big Show won the WWE Title was in late 2002 during the Attitude Era. Many people feel that the defunct ECW title has no value, and I agree.

The Big Show has been quite successful as a face in the WWE. The Big Show is so over with the crowd that he doesn’t need the World title to make an impact. He may not be a huge face like Cena, but Big Show is one of the top faces in WWE. Show receives a great ovation at each and every arena he enters. He has accomplished enough at this point in career where doesn’t need to win any major title again. But that doesn’t necessarily exclude him from ever winning a major title again. Whether Big Show wins or loses at Vengeance, he will always be over with the WWE Universe.
