Bible Verses that Will Really Encourage You!

Psalm 67:1

God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

This verse is a beacon of light to me. It reminds all of us that God can shine His face upon us if we are willing to call upon Him.

There are many times in my life that I have read this scripture, in times of need, and just whispered a quiet prayer to God for mercy.

It is during my darkest hour and your darkest hour, that we need to realize that God can and will shine His face upon us. It might be seem as if things look dismal, but just stop and look up for a moment. You will realize that God is waiting to shine His face upon you.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

1To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

2A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

4A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

5A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

6A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

7A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

8A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

I have been helped countless times by reading this scripture. How many times have you asked yourself why this or why that? It seems as if life is made up of the questions that just cannot be answered. After reading Ecclesiastes Chapter 3, it makes sense to just say God you know what is best because everything has its season. Over the years, I have learned from this verse that I do not need to spend time worrying because seasons come and seasons go, but God is always going to be there to help those who seek His face.

Psalm 77:1

I cried unto God with my voice, even unto God with my voice; and he gave ear unto me.

When was the last time that you truly prayed? It seems as if David (the writer of many of the Psalms) was a praying man despite all of his faults.

This verse has been very encouraging to me. Like David, I have my faults, but I realize that God still loves me. We must realize that although we are not perfect, God is. He listens to our every prayer and understands our greatest needs. He knows our thoughts before they are uttered as prayers off of our lips. He sees everything that we go through and is willing to keep us in the palm of His hands. We can trust Him with our families. We can trust Him with our finances.

We can trust Him with our lives because ultimately, He knows what is best for us!

Psalm 55:16-18

16As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.

17Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

18He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.

Once again, the Psalmist calls on God, who is able to help.

I have enjoyed serving God for over 25 years. Each time that I pray, I am always overjoyed to know that God is able to save me. I am always thankful that He hears when I pray.

It is a glorious thing to know that your prayers are being heard by one who cares. I cannot imagine praying to a being who ignores me. Thank God that God does not ignore us! Every day of every hour God is listening for our prayers and is eager to help.

Whatever battles we face, we do not face alone for God is always with us.

I Thessalonians 5:18

18In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

I quote this scripture all the time.

I believe that the reason why I quote this scripture a lot is because I catch myself wanting to complain about little things. Why do human beings complain so much? The answer might lie within the fact that we always think that somebody owes us something. The truth is that no one owes us anything. Even God does not owe us anything. He takes care of us because he loves us. Even when we are not grateful, He still loves us and takes care of us.

I have learned from this scripture that there is always a silver lining in every situation. I just need to look a little deeper to find the true meaning. When I take time to search, I will be able to find something to be thankful about. How about you? When last did you thank God for the small things in your life and even for the disappointments?

I Corinthian 13:1

1Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

The true character of a person is shown in how they treat the people around them.

I love this scripture because it reminds me everyday to not think of myself so highly that I forget to love my neighbor. During these times of hurricanes, fires and floods, we are reminded that we are our brother’s keeper. This is truly a time in history to learn how to love others and to realize that we are not alone in this world. Someone near to us is in need of help and if we do not help them, then we cannot truly be children of God.

All of us are called to show that we love God by seeking those who have the greatest need and by stretching out a hand to help them.
