Back to School Backpacks that Are Great for Both Parents & Kids

Kids aren’t the only ones that need reliable, versatile backpacks this back to school season. Here are four backpacks that are great for parents on the go.

1. Targus Checkpoint-Friendly Air Traveler Backpack ($47.80 at amazon.com)
During my business travels, I transport my gadgets in my Targus Air-Traveler Backpack. Its also an awesome backpack for tech savvy kids or college students because it can fit videogames, gadgets, clothes, shoes, you name it. Plus, it has a convenient laptop compartment, which allows you to go through airport security checks faster. Overall, the Targus Traveler Backpack definitely makes traveling easier.

2. Lands End Multi-Task Backpack ($39.50 at LandsEnd.com)
If you’re multitasking parent or student, the Lands End Multitask Backpack is another great carryall. I’m always shuttling my kids to their sports practices and no matter how much I stuff it with uniforms, equipment and food, it still stays in great shape. For students, it has lots of room for books and there is even a compartment for gym sneakers and a cellphone pocket on the shoulder strap.

3. Jansport SuperBreak ($30 at Jansport.com)
The Jansport SuperBreak Backpack is one of the most popular backpacks around because its simple, functional and comes in bunch of different patterns and colors. A lot of the backpacks I’ve seen these days, are trendy and stylish but not functional. So that’s why the Jansport SuperBreak is the best of both worlds. It has the cool design that kids like but its also very light, roomy and it has padded shoulder straps for comfort. I’ve own one for years and I’ve used it all throughout college and on several trips. Now my son uses it and he takes it everywhere. Definitely a backpack that every family should have.

4. L.L. Bean Original Book Pack ($27 at LLBean.com)
A backpack that I would recommend for younger kids or those carrying light loads is the L.L. Bean Original Book Pack. Its high quality and it has large compartment that can hold a lunch box, books, papers etc. What I like most about it is that it has reflective material on the straps, so its visible to motorists.

If you’re a busy parent, then you know that carrying a backpack is a necessity. I’ve found that many of the backpacks that are great for kids are also great for moms and dads. Durability, comfort and function is all you really need.
