Autodidact and College

Being an autodidact sets one limitless to what one wants to study. One is free to study whenever they want whatever they want without the bother of going to a class room and attending a class where someone teaches one what to learn. One can teach himself/herself how to learn and reach their intellectual goals without the need of a teacher to guide them by the hand. It is tantamount for a learner to continue to learn all their life and not be a dread to learn. Having a passion to learn is what everyone should have, but sometimes school makes it seem like a dreadful task to do. One can learn their interests right away without the need to learn General Education courses because the educational system forces students to learn from General Educational classes instead of delving strait to their passion.
Learning in a library instead of a fancy pricey college is a better option if one wants to only learn. But, if one wants to become hired because corporate America demands that one should have a degree then one should go to college, unless it is terribly expensive. One should not rely on other people to get jobs. One should create their own jobs and make a living out of ideas that can change the world for the better. Here in America we need innovators and thinkers who can usher in new technologies, and ideas that will shape the future economy of the world.
A college degree, especially a college degree that is not in demand is not worth pursuing, The investment is not worth it if one pays so much for their education by taking out loans because their grants have run out. If one makes one hundred thousand or more a year then I think it is worth the cost of going to a college or university. The fields that pay that much are licensed professional doctors, computer engineers, and engineers in general. Why would someone go to college not knowing what the value of their degree and the demand of it is?
