Scampi’s has great pasta. The issue doesn’t lie with their food, it lies with their service. They seem to have a pattern of closing early despite what their hours of operation sign says. It states that they close at 10 pm but there have been more than one occasion where they have closed before 9pm. If you can’t depend on your favorite restaurant to keep their word, you can’t depend knowing that they will be there when you want to enjoy their food.
When they are open, the service has something left to be desired. The staff does not seem to be concerned with taking drink or meal orders in a timely manner. Instead they deflect blame on each other, spend time talking to those customers of their choosing and in general, do not have the professional customer service skills to do their job.
Scampi’s food and prices are great and very reasonable but it is no replacement for good, old fashioned customer service. There are too many restaurants out there struggling under these economic times competing to give excellent customer service for a place like this not to try harder. I usually do not give a negative review without visiting the establishment several times to make sure it wasn’t just an off day. I like to be sure but these incidents were very hard to ignore. In today’s times, the average customer knows that he or she does not have to put up with bad service and will take their money elsewhere. I really hope they shape up because I did enjoy their food very much. If Scampi’s can work harder to improve their customer service then they would be an excellent place to eat great food.
