Angelina Jolie Visits Scotland’s HALO Headquarter To Discuss Mine Clearance

Angelina Jolie is more than just another pretty face on the big screen. Angelina has spent millions of dollars supporting charities like HALO Trust, Doctors Without Borders, Global Action For Children and the list goes on and on.

Just last week Angelina Jolie visited with Scotland’s President at the headquarters of HALO to discuss landmine clearance. Angelina has supported HALO Trust for more than ten years and has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to the non-profit organization, and has been responsible for funding landmine removal in Cambodia, Sir Lanka, Kosovo, and Afghanistan. Before the trip to Scotland Jolie has made a trip to the Tunisian-Libyan Border to promote international support to people trying to escape the fighting in Libya.

Jolie-Pitt Foundation In 2006 Angelina and her husband Brad Pitt founded the Jolie-Pitt Foundation and donated millions of dollars to get the foundation off to a good start.

Joplin Missouri receives $500,000 from Brad and Angelina in June of 2011 to help rebuild after a tornado rips the town apart and kills 150 people.

Global Action For Children provides support for orphans and other needy children in developing countries. The foundation provides health care, education, food nutrition and protection for the children of the world.

SOS Children’s Villages receives $150,000 in 2010 and $100,000 in 2009 from Angelina and Brads Jolie-Pitt Foundation. The SOS Children’s Villages is an organization that provides support for foster families caring for children that have lost their parents or who can’t live with their parents.

Human Rights Watch In 2008 the famous couple made a $1 million dollar donation to the Human Rights Watch Foundation to aid in research and advocacy in Burma and Zimbabwe. Human Rights Watch protects human right throughout the world and to exposing violations of those rights.

Earthquake victims Lance Armstrong joins with Angelina and Brad in donating to Earthquake victims in 2010. Armstrong donated $250,000 through his LiveStrong Foundation to help the relief efforts in Haiti, Brad and Angelina donated $1 million dollars to those efforts through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation.

Refugees In Pakistan received $1 million dollars through the Jolie-Pitt Foundation. in 2009.


Angelina Jolie and her husband Brad Pitt have donated millions upon millions of dollars to hundreds of charities and causes over the years, and are as well-known for their humanitarian acts as they are for the award-winning roles that they play in the movies. The above mentioned charities and cause are but a few of the ways that Brad and Angelina have helped to change the world and to help the people who live in it. These are not the only charities and foundations that Angelina and Brad support, the list doesn’t include any of the one time donations and gifts that the couple give such as an undisclosed amount that Angelina and her brother gave to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles or Brad helping with the Clean The Streets Program.

Angelina and Brad deserve more than a Grammy for all of their efforts to help the people of the world who are, abused, misused, discriminated against, hungry, have lost their families, friends, homes, jobs, lives and dignity to violence, disaster and disease or all three. I for one will never miss another Jolie or Pitt movie.
