Ladies and gentlemen the world is laughing at us. This country has made this family rich for absolutely no reason at all.
Kris Houghton married Robert Kardashian in 1978, the couple had four children. Kourtney, Kimberly, Khloe and Robert Jr. then divorced in 1990. Robert Kardashian became famous as part of the legal team that defended OJ Simpson, his wife Kris was very close to the murdered Nichole Simpson and was conflicted about her husband defending the man on trial for murdering her. It is said to have had a big impact on ending their marriage.
In 1991 Kris Kardashian became Kris Jenner, marrying Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner. The couple had two daughters, Kendall and Kylie.
The family does have a legitimate business, they have a string of clothing stores called “Dash” but that is clearly not their major source of income. This family is a reality TV family, they are making a fortune opening up their lives to television cameras. Why is this country fascinated by what these people do on a daily basis?
I am not a regular viewer of any of the Kardashian realty shows so I watched a few to see what all the fuss is about. I saw Kim Kardashian upset over her break up with her boyfriend. So upset that she didn’t want to leave her disgustingly dirty apartment, her overbearing mother had little sympathy and told her daughter to get up and get dressed because she has a modeling gig to do. I got the distinct impression that mom couldn’t care less that her daughter was depressed, her only concern was that they lose the money and the contract for this modeling ad. Kris Jenner told her daughter that if she didn’t get up and go to this gig she could be labeled as difficult to work with or irresponsible and they could lose a lot of money on future projects.
Has anyone given this woman a “Mother Of The Year” award yet?
I watched another episode where Kris Jenner put a Viagra pill in her husband’s drink but her son drank it instead and chaos ensued including having to take her son to the hospital. I do not believe that really happened.
Another episode showed Kim Kardashian finding a lost puppy on the street while shopping, she claims to hate dogs yet she took it home, nurtured it but after taking it to the vet learned that the dog was fatally ill and had to be put to sleep. I don’t believe that really happened.
This show is really lame to be honest. Why do people watch? They must be watching or it would be cancelled, they must be watching because they’re making more and more different Kardashian shows including two of the daughters going to Florida and another two going off to New York. Two of the Kardashian girls got married and of course the planning and execution of the weddings were all filmed and aired for E! television.
Khloe Kardashian married NBA star Lamar Odom after only a short time and were given another spin off by E! about their lives together.
Kris Kardashian has spearheaded this media blitz and has seemingly pushed her daughters into the “entertainment” industry by putting their lives out there to be judged. It is a surprising venture for her husband Bruce Jenner who had kept his private life private prior to marrying Kris. She seems to rule her household and her family with an iron fist.
I saw an episode in which this woman took her husband’s credit card away from him and not allowing him to purchase some hobby airplanes that he wanted while she went out and spent thousands on a dress for an event she was going to. In the end she apologized and gave the man his balls back…er his credit card back and honestly the whole thing seemed scripted.
In fact there have been dozens of reports that the Kardashian shows are scripted, set up and not real at all. Many have reported that the situations that happen are prepared in advance, for example the episode that found Kim Kardashian adopting an abandoned dog was apparently not real at all but producers purchased the dog and placed the dog in Kim’s path where she was told to pick it up and take it home with her. Even the end result apparently wasn’t real, the dog was perfectly healthy and did not have to be euthanized at all.
Watching the Kardashion’s TV shows in order to research for this article I was embarrassed for them all but I was really curious about the people who watch these shows, I don’t know anyone who watches, does that mean people are watching in secret? Is it teens who are watching? Are teens that influential on what is shown on TV?
The producers are laughing all the way to the bank and the Kardashian’s are right behind them. I haven’t found any of them to have any talent, they don’t act (well, they might act but not very well) and they don’t sing, dance or play any instruments. They are truly just an average looking family, if you really look at them without all the glamorous clothing, jewelry and professionally done hair and make up, they are not exceedingly gorgeous. Why is this country fascinated by these people?
Mama Kris Kardashian recently penned a book and while on tour for her book she was said to have hosted a luncheon. Her publisher’s sent over enough books for all of the fans who bought a ticket to have lunch with Kris, instead of signing and giving away the books as was the publisher’s intent, Kris and her “people” sold the books even bringing along a credit card machine and a secure place to accept cash payments.
Most recently this family made headline news as Kris’s Daughter, probably the most well known Kardashian daughter, Kim filed for divorce from her husband, NBA Basketball star Kris Humphries. The divorce was big news mostly because the wedding had been a mere 72 days before the divorce filing. Clearly this couple hadn’t spent enough time nurturing their relationship, barely knew each other and hadn’t worked out the details of how their lives would work going forward. None of that mattered, what mattered most was that the wedding plans, arrangements and final vows would all be recorded for television. The amount of money paid out for this wedding was astronomical, the amount that this couple earned was even larger but what about the guests who all brought gifts? Should they all be returned? Absolutely! Will they be returned? Probably not!
Mama Kris was recently on Wendy Williams and told the audience that if she were her daughter she would absolutely not return the ring. The reported 20 carat diamond ring was originally said to be worth $2 million but Kris corrected reports saying that it was less than half that amount.
The ring was just the beginning. The wedding has been reported to have a price tag of $10 million but the bride and groom’s family certainly didn’t have to worry about that, most of the wedding items were comped simply to get exposure, the three wedding gowns, the cake, the invitations and even the venue were all free or provided at a huge discount. The most costly freebee had to be Mom of the Bride Kris Jenner’s facelift that she announced to reporters in order to get it for free. The bride and groom were actually paid to hold their his and hers Bachelor / Bachelorette parties at Tao in LasVegas.
Now a mere 74 days later the marriage is over, they gave it the old college try but how long can one be expected to live in a loveless marriage?
Kris Jenner manages the careers of her children, she negotiates and bargains, she wheels and deals but in the end is she really doing what is best for her children? It still remains to be seen. There are the two youngest Jenner girls who seem to be heading in the same direction as their older half-siblings.
What’s next for the Kardashian family? More television shows, more money, more weddings, more money, more scandals and finally, more money. I still want to know who is watching and interested in these people, I really do.
