Windows Phone 7 Is a seamless mobile version of the windows 7 on your PC at home. It offers many of the same utilities such as Microsoft office, albeit the mobile version can almost be considered a ‘mini’ version. Wp7 may seem like it might not quite compare to android or ios (iPhone Operating System) but it is not targeted for the same consumer. Wp7 is in a league of its own presenting speed of use and aiming for a “glance and go” UI (User interface, referring to what the user sees and how they interact with the device). Many things add into this speedy UI from the ability to pin important information to the start menu of the phone to seeing you’re next calendar appointment on the lock screen. The more a user interacts with a Windows Phone 7 device the more they learn what “seamless” really means.
The Office app on WP7 may not have all the bells and whistles of the program of the same name on Windows 7 PC but that is completely made up for by the convenience. It allows you (using a windows live account) to sync all files in Microsoft office to the SkyDrive (a cloud based server) and access them you’re mobile device or your computer. Another example of seamless is the way all windows devices work together in the office.

Other information on the lock screen includes small icons of how many MSM messages, Emails (from up to two email accounts) and missed calls you have. So don’t waste time typing in the pass code and go get yourself some lunch.
If you think I’ve overused the word ‘seamless’ you need to take a WP7 device out for a spin. The best example of ‘Seamless’ is the social networking. You need to check your Facebook but don’t quite have an extra second to load your twitter? Well, you’re in luck with wp7. By just adding your information to the People application you can get all your social information in the same place. Even make a post to all of your networks at the same time. It syncs your contacts with your Facebook friends but let’s all be thankful they don’t sync in the people you follow on twitter. If you’re anything like me you follow way to many people on twitter to have to sort through to make a call.
Now, say you only have a second to make a reminder. Using the One Note found the office app you can quickly take a note such as a grocery list, then easily post it to the start menu (or home screen) for easy access whenever you need it. You can also sync anything from the Zune (music player) app or any picture albums you may like to have access to for showing off your kids. Contacts in the people app are also able to be ‘pined’ the start menu. Again it is made almost too easy to use a wp7 device.
Just like in the 80’s with windows for pc, Microsoft has knocked it out of the park on WP7. Not only has ease of access never been so , well, easy but they have also made it open on a number of handsets from companies such as Samsung, HTC, LG, Dell and even cellphone world leader Nokia is releasing a WP7 device. This makes you able to make a switch to WP7 and not have to lose you’re loyalty to your favorite manufacturer. To me Wp7 has made it easy for me to stay in touch without losing touch with everything else.
