Oh my memorable Easter…
I feel so energetic and spiritually prosperous in one way or another
Oh my memorable Easter…
I was alive and kicking since the day when I was born
I was so lucky to have celebrated the “Resurrection Festival”
I was a part in the local festival called “The Capital of Kabanhawan Festival”
It was celebrated annually during the Easter Sunday
The people from different places in the Philippines and outside of the Philippines who experienced said festival
To witness this grand celebration and that was one of the memorable events that I owed a lot.
Oh my memorable Easter…
At dawn, there was an outstanding play which we locally called “Sugat”
It was a celebration where Jesus Christ was reincarnated or reborn
In the afternoon there was a street dancing and finally the ritual dancing
The contingent was composed of the students from every school in Minglanilla District.
Oh my memorable Easter…
I have been a dancer for 3 years since first year when I entered this beloved learning institution
I was recruited by the choreographer and coordinator of the school
It was so fun and I couldn’t forget the happenings around during the locally known “Kabanhawan Festival”
Those memories were created by my friends who were my companions as ritual dancers
We practiced so hard and struggled to make a dance worth-entertaining
For the audience and for the judges who were present annually.
Oh my memorable Easter…
Although we never tasted victory but we accepted it wholeheartedly
It was because we danced for Jesus not for a competition but for something we were proud of
That was I thought of a long time ago during the presentation of said festival
Just to win, win, win, win, win, win, win and win and never expect to lose.
Oh my memorable Easter…
We hope that in this year, our competition is going to be successful and it is different from before
This year we have higher chances of winning because of new choreographers and costumes
Hopes are still there and all those memories in the past will never be repeated
And should be forgotten till the end of times
And this is something worth-remembering in my high school life.
Oh my memorable Easter…
Your wish is my command
Recollecting, recollecting, recollecting, recollecting, recollecting
Observing, observing, observing, observing, observing, observing,
Taking cognizance of the memories of Easter, not only in the Philippines,
But also in other countries-the worldwide Easter celebrations!
