A Look in the Mirror as We Age

It is time to take a serious look in a full length mirror. What do you see? What can you do to improve the reflection you see. Or perhaps you are satisfied totally with what you see. If that is the case you are very lucky.

As we age we are experiencing many changes in our face and body, no matter what we do, say, think or eat. Though you may think of yourself as energetic and full of fun, a few fears may have crept in as well as a more cautious attitude.. Your optimism and hope in life has been reduced to specific dates and time constraints. Perhaps you used to just think that you had so much time to make any changes that you wished. As you know, that as you approach fifty you begin to realize there are more years behind you than in front of you.

Okay enough of this philosophizing lets get to work!

Got those extra pounds…take them off. Just change a few eating habits, and get out there and exercise. Go through your refrigerator and pantry and get rid of all the junk food. If you don’t have it in close by you may easily forget about it. When you become hungry reach for fresh veggies and fruit.

If you have been putting off exercising, start out slowly. Perhaps you don’t like gyms and organized classes. Go for a walk, but do it every day. If the weather is bad get out your weights and jumprope. When you clean the house, put on some music and make an exercise class out of it.

A new hairdo might be in order. Make an appointment for a hair cut or even a new color. Your skin might feel a little dry and have a lifeless look. Either get a professional facial or head to a department store and pick out a prepared mask and new makeup colors.

Go through your closet and get rid of all the old clothes that no longer fit, and you just have not worn. Give yourself a budget and pick out some new accessories, blouses etc. There are so many great discount stores where you can purchase a few new items for a few dollars.

I bet you are starting to like that reflection you see in the mirror. Remember to keep up the routine everyday. Why not like that person staring back at you in the mirror?
